What Spam Filtering Software Do You Use?

I've been looking at several free programs out there... Anybody experience with the following? Any recommendation? I'm using Microsoft Outlook 2000.

For a personal system try k9

Totally free - offers 3 levels of protection (Bayesian filtering, realtime black hole lists and black/white lists), but there are multiple weaknesses which limit its usefulness in an office type environment.

I use Mailwasher for my old VT account, but it doesn't really work. Sure, I've got an enormous blacklist, but I still get spam from those addresses even after bouncing the emails.

What's the difference between Outlook binary and Outlook source? Can I install both binary and source?

One is the source code if you feel like messing with that, the other is a precompiled binary.

 

Spambayes is a nice Outlook plugin. If are willing to pay some cash and skip all the training, Clouldmark Spamnet is nice alternative. There are referal codes on the net that bring the subscription rate down to 2$ a month.

I had so much spam in my box in the deleted folder(never emptied it), I had a few hundered spam after i had it use the deleted box as spam, once it did that, spams been at 0(I do get a few in the junk suspects box a day, but thats getting better. Makes me feel less inportant when I check my email in the morning and there is only 2 in my box though

I downloaded Spambayes and right now it's sitting on my Outlook waiting for emails. Works kinda slow like... the emails are first downloaded into the Inbox and then clears up, goes to another box set up by SpamBayes where I can delete or remove and then transfer back to Inbox.

I'm still open to any suggestions and ideas...

You can set how often it checks your inbox in the seetings seti it for 1 second and it should be much better

Just switched from Clouldmark Spamnet to Spambayes; the latter is MUCH more effective.

i get no spam, i dont give my address out and if by mystery i get it, i switch email accounts
