yep, 1984.
Brave New World gives 1984 a run for its money, but it's been so long since I've read both of them that I'm not sure which one was worse.
Both were pretty close but I give the edge to 1984.
I give the edge to Brave New World.
If you really think about it, 1984 was bleek, and it was the obvious kind of bleak. Brave New World is more the kind that could overtake this current reality. One where everyone is of a certain level, and works a certain job, everything is pre-determined, you have "Soma" vacations (doesn't Soma just seem like an anti-depressant on crack, without side-effects?)...the end to Brave New World just kind of dropped my jaw, and left me hurt, because it felt so real.
As a side note, Anthem was a good book.
