What sunglasses you rolling in?

I have had all types from Rayban small aviators, to the round Revo's of the 80's, to Seregetis, Carrera, Rayban original Wayfarers, a bunch of Rayban and generic rectangular lensed glasses lately. Never been into Oakleys although some of the Gas Can types I want to try on.

Went back to basics with some Mock Tortoiseshell New Wayfarers in 52mm. I am a bigger guy, but smaller lenses look good on me as long as the temples are wide enough.

They didn't have a pair of the small aviators in stock, but I want some of those too.

I wear the cheapest ~$10 pair I can find. They never seem to last more than a year, either get broken or lost.

I have some prescription Nike from Cohen's optical, but the tint has peeled really badly and they refuse to warranty it. They claim the heat in my car caused the damage and that it wasn't a warrantee issue.

Paid $400 and it pisses me off when I look at it.

I also have about ten pairs I get on sale from wherever I am, Marshall's, pacsun, etc...because I break them like I stole them. They get washed, sat on, lost, whatever.

Why would you pay $400 for any Nike Frame plus basic prescription lenses even if high index?!?!

Same here. I have a functional iris that adjusts to let the proper amount of light into my eyes.

i paid about 500 for my maui jim prescription sun glasses.

i have a cylinder measurement over 3. great lenses are expensive.

not sure about nike, but the lenses i got from maui jim were the best ground lenses i have ever had in my life.

Exactly, just like anyone with a functional epidermis has absolutely no need of sunblock!


Damaging UV aside, those of us graced with those recessive eye pigment colors (i.e. non-brown) don't deal with bright light as well as non-recessive folks. I remember heading out for a fantastic day of fishing off the reef one day when I was in high school, sans Jimmies. My head and eyes felt like shit end of that day, first and last time I let that happen. It was like my eyes each had their own migraine.

I actually had prescription aviators when I was wearing glasses. One of my buddies wears the Outdoorsman set. He is a rastafarian and it suits him well.
