If Dodgers are able to get Vlad and a decent bat at either 2B or SS, then I'll put in my vote for Evans for GM of the Year. It's hard to see someone like Kevin Brown leave after he had such a great year with one of the best ERA but in the end, I think, it was necessary.
Kevin Brown is like Manny Ramirez, a world of talent but lack the drive and intensity. He seems very unmotivated, was injured several years and not a clubhouse leader.
Wow, you couldn't be totally more off if you tried. Kevin Brown is nothing
but a workhorse and a gamer. He wants to be out there every day, and if he had the chance he would be throwing every single game. Its not his fault he's had injury after injury... and if you watched him progress you would see that after each injury he would work harder and harder just too keep himself healthy. Putting Kevin Brown even on the same page as ManRam is a HUGE injustice in itself.

I thought Odalis Perez for Gary Sheffield was a brilliant move.
He was also one who petitioned to keep Gagne and make him a closer. This guy is a genius.
He also just got rid of that underachiever Kevin Brown.
Evans for GM of the Year.
The Odalis for Sheff was an okay move, but it wasn't anything magical. Yes, Odalis is amazing when he's on, but when he's not he's really not. This is the same guy that will not start a game if he has a hangnail or a small blister. I understand what a blister does to a pitchers hand, but a hangnail? Come on!
IMO Gagne was sheer luck. I don't think there was a single person in the world that saw the perfect closer in Gagne. Gagne was a struggling starter that was moved to the bullpen because of his poor performance in the starting rotation. LA was out a closer so they were basically just trying out different guys as closers, its quite obvious what happened next. Its the same thing that happened with Lowe, you can't possibly tell me someone saw him tearing it up on the mound after he would have above-average bullpen work.
Let us not forget Evans amazing moves this past trade deadline either. LA was in dire need of hitting and what does he go out and do? Get Burnitz and Henderson. Granted, he didn't have a whole lot to work with, but both of those trades were a complete waste of everyone's time. Neither Butnitz nor Henderson did jack squat for LA... nor were either doing much before coming to LA. Who knows what he saw in those two other than a scapegoat for why they didn't make the playoffs. "Hey, I tried the best I could with what I had." Yeah, bullsh!t.
The past two years I have had to listen to Evans repeatedly say "Don't worry, I have a plan." Well damnit, if now isn't the time to implement the plan then when is? A hitter as good as Vlad will not be on the market again for a long time to come. If Evans signs Vlad then all will be forgiven and I will not say another bad word about him for a very long time. However, if Evans thinks that Juan Encarnacion and re-signing Alex Cora for 1mill+ is the answer, then he's sorely mistaken. I will give Evans credit for building up LA's farm system, in 2 or 3 years they will have the best prospects (assuming they don't get traded away). But short of that he has done little to nothing to help what is so painfully obvious to everyone else... GET LA SOME BATTS!
