Getting a little warm in here, 24C in this room. Turned on the AC. Other temps:

Living Room: 21.5625°C (+)
Hallway: 23.0625°C (=)
Server Room: 23.8125°C (=)
HVAC Return: 22.0625°C (+)
HVAC Supply: 15.4375°C (-)
Outside: 20°C (-)
Delta Temp: -6.625°C

I need to install an economizer, a lot of the times I need to cool down the house just a tad and it's cooler outside, could at least equalize to outside temp before the compressor starts.

why does anyone need to cool their house down to 73 or 74 degrees???

At work the office thermostat is in F, we usually set it to like 72. It won't let us go lower for some reason, so I just stick my thumb on the sensor for a bit and then it thinks it's like 85, then it kicks the AC on. Need to get a clip of sorts so we can hang a 25w soldering iron just below the thermostat. Plug it in when it's too warm.

78 is on the uncomfortable side, that's like 25C. Even very mild physical activity results in sweating at that temp. Typically if I'm trying to conserve energy I'll tough it out, but that is my cut off point where I give in and turn on the AC.

lol speaking of temperature police I remember in high school they had plastic cages around the thermostats. We quickly figured out that you can use the tube of a pen to get in and turn the dial. Even the teachers used that trick lol.

Inside a comfortable 76°F with the AC on. We can make it colder, but that would ruin the electric bill. Outside here in Apex, NC it is 89°F with a feel like of 98°F and 52% Humidity -- Friday it is supposed to get back to 96°F with a feel like of 107°F --- this is really hot summer so far

Wal Mart controls the thermostats from Bentonville.

Oh that blows when it's actually controlled from some completely different area. I can't recall what company it was but I recall someone here complaining that the heat/AC was controlled from some place down south where they worked. Too freaking hot in there in summer and too cold in winter. They were too cheap to make it comfortable. Though in general there is nothing worse than when a company makes all the calls from down south. Like most chain big box stores only sell the winter stuff for a very short period of time then go back to summer stuff. Who is going to buy a lawnmower when there's 6 feet of snow on the ground? I always laugh when I go at Home Depot in like February and all the lawnmowers and patio furniture is out. Yeah, none of that merchandise is going to move for at least 3 months.

That's just moving hot air around though, and the motor actually generates extra heat. Once it gets that hot it's kinda past the stage where fans help. Suppose if it's blowing directly on you it somewhat helps though, but it's basically like trying to cool yourself down with a blow dryer. Might help get rid of the sweat but it's still hot air.
