What the Heck is COMBINED power?

Hey im looking at the AMD approved powersupply list, and i see the wattage of the PS then i see combined power.

What is combined power, some have alot more, does that mean that it will give off more power??

Is more better or what?

does more combined power mean that i can hook up more disk drives than a powersupply with less combined power?
