I disagree, it should be on by default (actually, I think they should make you figure that out when you sign up). And, its not like they don't inform you when they make changes and tell you to check your settings so you have no excuse there. I can't even begin to figure out how someone can be so angry over Myspace/Facebook, let alone when your problem is something that is your own damn fault.

No, it's Facebooks problem, I have been tagged in peoples pics on Myspace and it never send me shit when people commented. In fact I've never gotten 150 emails from any other web site in a 48 hour span. Facebook will die a painful death if I have my way, it's only a matter of time.

This is the reason I stopped using Hotmail for a long time. When MS bought them out, they changed the UI every two weeks for a year.
Facebook's UI keeps getting more and more cluttered to me. Finding what I want gets continuously more difficult with every 'upgrade'. They should give users the ability to customize their UI.

I never said I prefer Myspace, I hate both with about as much passion as KKK dudes hate black people. If I had to take my pick I would chose Myspace because it doesn't assume I want to be informed of bullshit other people I don't even know say, simply because we have a mutual friend. I've never seen another social networking site, forum or anything where it defaulted to shit like this. Yes I can turn it off, but why should I have to? Anandtech should set users to automatically receive notifcation when any thread they post in is updated.
