Wintergreen ice cream eh? That's due cause for a flogging...

Wintergreen candy is good so we figured we'd give it a try. Since our ice cream doesn't have any crap in it competing for flavor, I suspect it will be tasty. Alas, I am on the road right now so I won't be able to try it for a bit.

Peppermint's great. Wintergreen tastes like mid century chewing tobacco and/or muscle rub.

LOL, when I got a tattoo a few weeks ago, one of the sprays they used to clean it up smelled like wintergreen, and I ended up buying a pack of wintergreen Lifesavers a few days later

Eons ago, Baskin Robbins used to do a Mandarin Chocolate. I remember it as ice cream, but searching finds they called it sherbet. Fake recipes say to use orange juice. When I conjur up my own version, I use chocolate ice cream to start out. I add some extra dark cocoa powder to make it almost black, then add orange flavoring and either Triple Sec or some other orange liqueur.

Best stuff I made at home was a Kahlua ice cream with bits of crushed espresso beans mixed in. I made that one a few times after liking the first batch so much.

Strangest attempt? Wasabi ice cream. It wasn't good, lol.

I use these for salads, strawberry ice cream, and most importantly, strawberry milkshakes. It basically intensifies the strawberry flavor. Super mega awesome, tastes like summer lol.

I switched to "Rebel" ice cream. It uses sugar alcohol instead of regular sugar, but is full fat and full flavor. Doesnt seem to spike blood sugar levels nearly as much as normal ice cream. They have only a handfull of flavors, and all the ones I've tried have been excellent. Anybody else who was diagnosed as diabetic and misses ice cream or who is doing keto or low carb diet for any other reason may wish to consider them. Anybody else have any experience with diabetic/keto ice cream brands?

$12 a pint. I should have invested better.

I mean, I could afford it but . . . I'm old school (and old) and simply having trouble getting past the whole "$12 an effing pint" thing, even while acceding the whole "you have to pay a contemporary commensurate price for quality." Artisans gotta eat and pay the rent, too.

Still about $4 too expensive especially considering my local Stop & Shop has literally 20+ "artesian" (rotfl... read: pretentious) ice-cream brands right in the cooler now for +/- $5 per pint.

Also VERY few of them are actually any better then Haagen-Daz or Ben & Jerry's and most that I've tried are not as good. (just more flavors available)
