This. That only works if you generalize every frozen treat as "ice cream." Cream is right in the name, so if there isn't any cream in it, it technically isn't "ice cream."
I do the same thing. It took me a while to figure out how to do strawberry properly, but it's easy enough to do.
For those that are interested: berries are mostly water which turns to ice when frozen (I know, big shock). But ice is really gritty and ruins the smooth texture I wanted. The trick was to add some sugar to the berry puree and heat it for a bit on low heat before you add it to the base mixture. This removes a lot of the water and gives you much smoother ice cream.

Lemon, apple, hazelnut are classic flavours? Can't get REAL ice cream except in Italy? What the hell are you talking about OP?
The thread title combined with the OP still cracks me up.
I certainly feel the OP's pain...I, for one, miss the good old days when you could get Brontosaurus Blast at any corner ice cream parlor...
And a cherry phosphate!
Used to make hand cranked Vanilla at the Uncles farm on occasions, fresh milk, we'd take turns cranking it over time and someone would have to pour the rock salt on the outside now and then to keep the ice melted.
That was the real stuff
I like red bean ice cream. I tried it when I was in Thailand and Korea. Red beans and vanilla ice cream
Do you guys like?
