What the hell?

As soon as I enter an online multiplayer game ie BF2, CSS.. my net is fast and fine (i am actually alt-tabed out of BF2 right now just to post this)... as soon as i disconnect from the game.. the ping in my ventrilo channel shoots to 24,000 and my net in general goes to hell.

I talked to my net provider and he said my router was fried, so i bought a whole new setup including a new switch (2 comps running). my net worked for about a week then this ****** started happening again. I updated firmware, ive reset that damn thing so many times.. everything is set at default....

I DONT understand how my net can be fine as soon as I join a game then go to complete hell as soon as I just try to surf. Its making me mad as hell. the internet light wont stop blinking on the router and the blink continues all the way to my computer. Is my stupid router again????

I WANT TO THROW IT OUT THE WINDOW. PLEASE HELP ME. its a linksys.. and im hard wired.. not wireless.

Try going to speedguide.net and downloading "TCP Optimizer" and tweak your windows connection settings for optimal. Perhaps software you (may havent installed yourself) has modified registry values for a specific purpose , therefore making your internet connection suffer.
