400 was fine with EasyTune readings pegged @ +3.29, +4.99 and +11.96. I can live with that.

So do you need 500? Depends on what load you intend to drive. I'm currently formatting two new large drives on the G-B right now in order to go terabyte (GB-TB-GB, AKA the Gigabyte terabyte Granite Bay). I had intended to swap in my Vantec 520 and move the Seasonic to a quieter system, but, based on your query, will see how many drives the 400 can take. I'll get back with results later, perhaps in a new thread.

OK. So I thought I was safe in ordering a 2.4 from Newegg to get a SL6EF (C1), which they have been shipping lately, but got another B0 to go with my SL6EU from October. Evidently the pipeline had not been flushed out of the old stepping units. No regrets on the board.

Just received the rest of the parts for my system and I seem to have a bad processor...no post, no beeps, all power supply voltages ok...and since I had a couple extra 8inxp's I tried another m/b and same problem..tried another power supply for the heck of it and no go(1 antec 430 and 1 antec 300). Tried several different sticks of ram...single and paired...no go. I just wanted to let anyone interested to know that the Swiftech mcx4000 does fit...barely but it does!!!

Thanks for the Swiftech info also. This summer I had a P4 2.26 that was bad, had a short pin (Pin not long enough to make contact). Question are the fans for the chipset and the extra power supply, are they very loud? Was thinking about replacing the chipset one with a fanless option, but have no idea what to do with the extra power supply fan.

They are still posting F2 (12/2/02) on their site. I have a Newegg F3, but it is probably not your panacea; I couldn't post at 165, dropped back to 162 and didn't bother trying 163.

Also, I was hoping to make use of EasyTune4 to make tweaking a little easier, but after locking at 33/67 in the BIOS, I still couldn't lock them in Windows using all 3 ET modes.

So, #1: will F4 be released Monday (1/27), and #2: will it be posted? Inquiring minds, including the clergy, want to know.

Well I was going to build a P4G8X as a backup to my AMD system, I like to have both Intel and AMD running and sold the P4B533 I had as a backup but with or if Asus pulling out makes me think, If Asus pulls out of the Granite Bay maybe it is time to look at something else

I think that the chipset fans are not very loud...compared to some I've heard..I like a nice quiet system and am not considering any changes to the chipset fan (unless it starts squealing).

yes, mine did come w/ the F3 bios too. one thing i haven't found in it though is a place to manually set the memory cas settings

When you get into the bios do Control-F1 and that'll bring up the Advanced Options. That'll let you set the memory timing.

That's kind of ridiculous! i850E still gives it a strong run for the lead and falls behind mostly when it comes to overclocking. Then there's WinZip...

Anyway, here's a place that lists a couple E7205's as "24 hours" availability, I would call if you want to know for sure: Axiontech.com I see Atacom has the 8INXP for $260 and it's letting me take it to checkout... Atacom.com and if you search for "E7205" you get the Supermicro and two Asuses.

Try some of those guys.
