I have (2) 256MB Samsung Original PC2700 modules that do cas 2.5-3-3-6 @ 200MHz 2.9v, but I am looking for something that will do at least 215Mhz or better. Corsair XMS PC3200 is probably using what I have now in addition to the heat spreader.

(2) sticks of PC2700 ddr running at 410mhz ddr on Asus P4S333 sis645 chipset....2.7v...decent timings...always left at cas 2.5 cause that is what it is rated for...

Sad thing...Those 2 sticks wont do anywhere near 400ddr on epox mobo with 2.8v and lowest settings....

Haven't tried too many different ones. I have one 512 Meg Samsung PC2700 that does DDR400 pretty easy. I've had it @ DDR412 and thats about as far as it will go. I also had an OEM Samsung 512 meg from Dallasmemory that went into a friends PC (same mobo). Does DDR400 also, never tried any higher. For more, you need to get into the more $$ stuff like the Corsair.

Raise your fsb and keep good memory dividers.

It works like this:

fsb/d1*d2*bit=memory bandwidth
fsb/d1*d2*2= DDR memory frequency

I hope that helps.

Just so you know:

fsb = front side bus
d1 = divider #1
d2 = divider #2

Excellent, now if I could just figure out how to change d1 & d2 on my A7M266...I'm not even sure if it's possible

D1 and D2 are your memory dividers.
For example, if I'm using a 4:6 divider, D1 would be 4 and D2 would be 6.

Yep, you'll see it right near your fsb changing options.

...By the way, the best I've done so far is DDR435.
I'm getting some TT active ramsinks for my RAM then going to see what I can do. Hopefully I'll hit my DDR480 with 2.9v vmem.
If not, it's off to buy either some mushkin or corsair platinum.

DDR480 are you CRAZINAZY??? there are no ram out there that can even go about 450...
as for me...i have corsair xms pc2700...i have been able to run it up to ddr426.67 with fsb160 3:4 ratio...even with 2.5v...but i needed more vcore that i would preferred...

damn sam! we are in quote hell here!

are we talkin about a SiS board?
SiS boards have a Cas 2.5/4/4/7 option that may actually allow for a higher DDR overclock than a i845 board. actual performance isnt any better tho obviously.

was i OT?

I've seen DDR500 all ready @ 2.7v vmem with no extreme cooling with Corsair XMS PC3200.
I'll be using more cooling than he was, if this sammy won't do it, I'll be getting either Mushkin PC3200 or Corsair XMS Platinum PC3000 CAS2 (winbond chips)

why don't you try to down a bit your memory frequency & up a bit your FSB? normally it is more powerfull involving better benchmarks.
