Brendan Behan has been dead for 40 years, and I don't really think his comments translate to this situation: Richards stands to make only relatively little from the Seinfeld DVD sales, and the publicity that will result from this gaffe jeopardizes whatever is left of his career. It seems patently, obviously absurd to me to suggest that Richards would emerge from obscurity to use a series of racial slurs to "promote" one of seven DVD releases of a TV show in which he enjoys only a tiny profit share.
With that and the stigma of racist tied to his career from that time on - no amount of money is worth that....
