The TWO most reliable vehicles I have owned, I own currently. One is an 87 Toyota Camry, the other a 1981 Suzuki GS550L (motorcycle).

1978 Lincoln Town purchased used on 3/14/88 for $3,000. Ran it till 3/14/95 and rust had taken it's toll. 460ci engine still ran hard. Most electrical options were still working including both power seats, all 4 windows and the AC had just quit the year before. I think my next purchase will be a Grand Marquis of the same vintage.

1989 Thunderbird Super Coupe. Over 225,000 miles (very hard miles) and other than some moderate mods to the engine to enhance performance (custom bent headers, roller cam, slightly smaller super charger pully, chip and exaust) the only significant down time was to replace the clutch at 135,000 miles. Damn near bullet proof.

My current car (Audi S4) has been rather trouble free for it's first 15,000 miles of life. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Cadillac: In their day, massive, powerful, really comfortable road sleds.

Saved my bacon on a couple occassions.

I have never owned a car, but the most reliable one I can remember in my family would be a 1991 Honda Civic Si hatchback. Prior to that we had some Colt hatchback, which was also pretty good.

If I had money, and a driver's licence, I'd probably buy a Civic coupe. I just like the way it looks, and they're peppy for the price too (especially the "SiR" or whatever models).

1990 Honda Accord, only got 140,000 miles though. My friend's 89 Accord has 250,000 and it is in amazing condition, it should run 400,000 easy.

1979 Datsun wagon - bulletproof engine, and able to carry more stuff than most small pickups... or at least it seemed that way... Better watch those hills though!

1995 Saturn SL1 (my current ride) - Almost 100K now, and still going strong... she'll still move like a bat outta hell when asked, and has had nothing but routine maintenance save for a few alternator replacements.

Dad's '94 SL1 would probably be the most reliable though. 160K in 7 years (bought new in Oct. '93) and it's currently being driven 100 miles daily with nothing but a monthly oil change to keep it going...

I would have to say my Honda Civic 87 hatchback. Its sort of ugly and very basic but man is it stable. I bought it with 92k miles and it is at 140k now. The only thing I have done to it is change the battery (my fault for leaving the lights on to many times in the fog and then forgetting to turn them off), change the tires, windshield blades and 1 light bulb (cause a rock hit it) and routine oil changes. I have invested very little money into that car. I now use a Ford Probe and Ford Taurus, mostly because they were the only good ones I could afford at the time. My next new car will be a Honda Accord.

I've owned a few pieces of crap in my day. I'd have to say that the most reliable vehicle is my current one. My '97 Ford Ranger 4x4 has been a pleasure to own. My father has an '89 Ranger with 210,000 miles on it. I'd say it's the most reliable vehicle he's ever owned.

My dad's BMW 325 '87 with over 260,000 miles on it. Nothing has ever been done to the engine except for the usual checkups (cables, hoses, and oil...etc).

1985 Volkswagen Jetta.

Purchased new. Except for normal maintenance, never had a problem in four years of ownership.

HR(1966) Holden sedan with a 186ci engine, that thing just went for ever.

It handled good to - I replaced the 13inch rims with 14inch rims& low profile tyres, plus attached a pair of nice thickish antisway bars front & rear, plus gas shockies too.

'83 Datsun "Kingcab" pickup truck. The only reason that had to be taked off of the road was because Dad was afraid that the seats would fall through the floorboard due to rust

Second would be it's '85 Ford Ranger replacement. 183,000 miles, same engine, same clutch. Only had a carberatour rebuilt 3 times and the windshield wiper engine thingy rebuilt. Other than that, it was rock solid.
