Definitely NOT my '89 Chrysler Le Baron, or my '94 Dodge Spirit...

I haven't had a reliable car yet - egads!

My 1987 Cutlass Ciera, 4 Door. I drove it in high school. I received it in good working order, except for a rusted muffler, which was replaced. It had 187,000 miles. It was a decent car; however, I wanted a new one. I did everything in my power to kill it. This included (it's an automatic) popping it into first gear at speeds in excess of 55-60, taking it off-roading, popping numerous curbs, and hitting numerous large, concrete objects. I also went for over two years without changing the oil. In addition, either the radiator held no fluid (it definately had a leak), or very little; I never fixed this, or attempted to at least keep fluid in it. The only major things to ever happen to my car were my brake line bursting, and my catlytic converter dying. However, the driver's side door would not open from the inside (I had to roll down the window to get out), cruise control didn't work, the turn signal nob disconnected from the steering column, the plastic seatbelt coverings all broke, and the hood had a major dent in it from when I drove without securing the hood to the body (long story). Despite all these things, nothing ever happened to the engine, transmission, or anything else comparable to make it stop functioning.

Considering that I only have about 5000 miles on my ZX2, I can't really comment on it.

'69 Olds 88 4dr, 455 V-8. A real tank, able to bounce off concrete buildings/walls, trees, other cars, etc., with little to no damage. Crappy gas mileage, but gas was $0.50-$0.75/gal. Great winter driving car ... slide right off the road and who cares - well, as long as there was no cliff or such, but ditches were usually navigable. :Q

Retired with just over 290,000 miles, due only to major body and structural rust.

My (1st and only car) car holds up real good to the abuse I put it through. I DO take care of it though, always checking under the hood just in case. But I take this thing up to and past redline all the time, and it still runs like a watch. Holds all its fluids, and everything operates like it should. It's been like that its whole life (90k mi). Although I'm about to trade her in for something a little faster (for an '89 CSX, Soybomb know what I'm talkin about ) - it's still been a great car for the short time I've had it. Hopefully I can sell it to a friend so I can make sure it gets taken care of!

The VW Rabbit I have now. I do nothing to it I don't WANT to do.

The Rabbit I had before was a pain in the ass. There was a break in a line inside the gas tank that made the car stall on hard rights if there was < 1/2 tank of gas and there was a carbon canister in one of the fenders that accumulated water. Suck!
