Nothing unreasonable though. I'm pretty good at managing my money. Even sold my Virus TI, though that hurt...

That's the thing...it all boils down to this: what can you responsibly afford?

Look at Jay Leno - he owns nearly 300 cars, but...he can responsibly afford them. Contrast that with kids I knew who worked at places like McDonalds, got a brand-new car, and had a $500/month car payment. Eek! When I worked in retail, it was always kind of shocking to see just how far people lived beyond their means...I'd have people open their wallets to pull out their card to pay and they'd have ten to twenty credit cards in there. It's not about things being ridiculously-priced, it's about whether or not you personally can responsibly afford it, because nothing (legal) is technically irresponsible if you can pay for it (the exceptions, of course, being an education, a reasonable vehicle, and a home).

Whisky/ey. Scotch, Bourbon, Rye, Japanese, etc. etc. Probably have...maybe $3K worth of bottles in rotation in my cabinet right now.

Also watches, although by collector standards I'd say it's not actually that much. Rolex, Omega, Tag along with a bunch of other cheaper stuff.

I buy vinyl records to 'have' them, even if I already own the CD or other digital version of the album. It's an addiction for sure that I see no end in sight for. Records cost $20-$50 each new while some collectible ones get easily into the hundred$.

only things i can think about is my home theater. but that was a one time purchase.

regularly maybe when we go on vacations. we typically eat out at $100+ dinners every night and sometimes for lunch too, while drinking the $8 - $10 drinks at beach bars (if we don't have our own cooler with us), and then we splurge like a mofo on excursions and things like snorkel trips, renting ATV's, zip lining, etc. never know when i'll be back at those places so i go all out when i'm there.

i would live like a hobo just to be able to go on vacations. i am pretty frugal in general even though i make a lot of money, but i'm only frugal so that i can save for vacations and splurge while on vacations.

It varies so much over time, and I'm cheap. There are things that no matter how much I like them I just can't justify the cost on something that just loses value over time...but these remain constant...

I came in here to post that. Except that I'm not so much into lunch splurges. An expensive lunch tends to take too long, which gets in the way of the prime sight-seeing time.

A good vacation (and vacation memory) is priceless. I'd much rather spend two weeks exploring ancient ruins in Asia than spend the same amount of money to get a car with 10 more horsepower (I'm either stuck in traffic or on cruise control so horsepower doesn't matter). I'd much rather be on the top of a spectacular mountain than have a computer/smartphone that is 20% faster than my other computer/smartphone.

I'd much rather shake the US presidents hand, swim with penguins, pet a lion, have a bottle of wine with war survivors after visiting a museum based on them, jump over large crevasses in a glacier while being tethered to complete strangers, see where history happened, be alone in a medieval castle ruin, climb a Roman ruin, etc than have another gadget sitting in my garage/basement gathering dust. All of which I've done recently.

Bikes and tools to work on said bikes. Though I would say I'm really damn frugal. My buddies will drop an easy $2K just on a "spare" road bike.

My Kona Rove cost me $1,400 (down from $1,600. 2015 closeout).

My Kona Lana'i was $500 but I recently poured ~$420 into it to convert it from a 3x8 to a 1x10. I found 90% of the drivetrain parts for the Lana'i locally or on Amazon and only bought used/returned; that was ~$220. The new 35mm rear wheel is where I spent good money, about $200 after parts and labor to lace it.
