My plan is to show up around 7AM, wasn't sure if I should go sooner than that. I'm honestly not sure why I'm excited other than that I'll have an iPhone again because I sold my previous one... actually wish I kept it because of the lower monthly rate, but whatever.

Cliffs: I'll be there at 7am, maybe a little sooner, not sure.

I have two Apple Stores and about 10 different AT&T stores within about 6 mi of my work, so I'm just going to go around 2 or 3 in the afternoon and see what the lines are like.

I plan on showing up around 7 am as well, to my local apple store. I'll drive by one AT&T store, and there is one in the mall near the apple store so I'll check the lines there as well.

Originally I was thinking of going around 7, but after talking to a lot of people, it seems like that's the time that everyone is planning on being there so I'm gonna go around 6 or so to beat that crowd.

Given enough time between now and then, others will be thinking the same, so I'd go around 5

Seriously though, I was thinking about going around 6 or 6:30 just to beat the wave of people at 7 as well.

I'm sticking with my old iPhone, personally. 3G and GPS don't seem to make the extra fee worth it.

Errr.. no it's not. Moto 68k processors came BEFORE PPC. That's like ancient. Like, Sega Genesis ancient.

Hehe, during my computer architecture course, we at least got to use Sun processors... I enjoyed assembly quite a bit. There were parts that weren't very much fun, like bit shifting and so on but I still enjoyed it.

I see. Thanks for pointing that out. Apparently some macs did exist that used the 68k, but they weren't PPC.

And yea, the assembly programming is interesting, but WOW it's a pain in the iButt. See what iDid there?

I'm waiting on line at the 5th Ave store right now. Got here around 6 and there was about 150 people on line. The line is HUGE right now! It's an hour since I got here and there's definitely over 350 people right now.

Well, I can't do anything without a cup of coffee. I'll be heading downtown right after that. Have fun everyone!

I got to my local AT&T store at about 6:30. I was 9th in line. When I left there were about 50. This was a brand new at&t store, I don't think many people knew about it because from what the AT&T employees were saying one of the other stores about 20 minutes away had 200 or so at the time of opening.

I walked out at about 8:30 with a 16 GB White iPhone. I'm activating it now.

I'm home! Got in line about 5:15am at the local AT&T store, was 18th in line. What was crazy was that they had 350 8gb iPhones, and only 20 Black 16gb iPhones, 10 White 16gb iPhones.

See, that's what annoys me about Apple. They know that most people don't want the 8GB. They did that with the initial 4GB/8GB launch.

Anyway, I'm heading out to check out my local shops in about 5 hours, so we'll see how that goes...

got myself the 16gb white! I'm posting from it right now. The auto text and spelling is pretty nice but it'll definitely take some getting used to.

Damn it I want one so bad.. I'll have to live with just having the apps on my current iPhone. Maybe the next time they bump up the capacity I'll grab a new one.

I showed up at 7:55 A.M. and was about 35th in line. After waiting about 45 minutes, I picked up the last 8 gig model.

I was 14th in line, at a store with 10 16GB (5 white 5 black) and 10 8GB models, got an 8GB iphone. They took about 40 minutes per person to activate and get things going, and when it got to my turn, they said it wasn't working or something, and sent us home with our iPhones. My normal phone isn't working and neither is this, great success!

I went 5 minutes before opening and after 2 hours of waiting I was a few people shy of getting one. I wish they just handed out vouchers, could have made the process easier. I was able to pre-purchase an iphone and dude told me he should get it in 2-4 days. I can live with that!
