I want to listen to songs while cycling, but I'm afraid I won't be able to hear the sounds around me. I've read online that bone conduction headphones work, is that true? Have you heard of the brands Shokz, Mojawa, Nank?
Bone conduction or not, if you can hear the music well, it will still mask ambient noises and dangers. I wouldn't do it, you are already vulnerable enough as a cyclist... unless you exclusively use bike paths that aren't just lanes beside the roadway that cars are on.

If you are legally allowed to wear headphones while operating that vehicle, you could also look into open air headphones or earbuds. They typically have vented designs which allow air to flow through, so exterior sounds won't be muffled. However, due to the nature of the open design sound also leaks out and is audible to nearby persons, so not recommended for use in libraries and such.
