The top of the Sears Tower is pretty cool. So is the Field Museum (Dinosaurs!). Umm...a Cubs game?

bah...cubs suck. Nuff said.

You dont go to a cubs game to see who wins/loses. You go for the experience.

Yeah, that's what I did when I was there a few weeks ago.

Bump for a useful threat, and anoter vote for M.S.I...
The U-boat tour was awsome...Man these things were tiny.....

the hancock tower is much better than Sears tower, you can see more, especially these cool executive swiming pools at the top of smaller buildings....
Also, I know an inexpensive motel:
link
Nothing special, but it is close to the train station and inexpensive...

The Blues Festival takes place downtown May 29-June 1, so if you're here during that time and enjoy that genre of music it may be worth a visit. You definitely can't beat the price (free).

I always thought Gino's East Pizzeria was pretty awesome.
With all due respect to Gino's (which is damn good) when it comes to Chicago-style deep dish pizza Lou Malnotti's is king. If you get the chance try both and decide for yourself.

Sorry....

Hey whats the population of Chicago?

Chicago Population: 2,896,016 in city and 9,157,540 in metro, Area is 589 km² (227 mi²)

For your comparison TheCorm (all from skyscrapers.com)
London Population: 7,172,036 in city and 11,850,000 in metro, Area is 1,579 km² (609 mi²)

Anyways, onto the stuff to do. Ok, don't listen to these guys from Indiana about the House of Blues. Go to a place called Blues on Halsted. Cool place, not touristy.

As for the pizza, don't listen to anyone, Giordano's pizza is the best Chicago chain!

Check out www.chowhound.com to figure out what else you might want to go eat at. (Good food message board for Chicago, and other cities and regions like LA, NYC, Houston)

these 3 sites are good to figure out what to do:
www.metromix.com
chicago.citysearch.com
www.centerstage.net

My personal favorite things to do with the tourists include
architecture tours
shop on Michigan Ave
Art Museum
Museum of Science of Industry.

Other cool things:
Cubs Game
Catch a movie at the Brew & View (beer and movies, great heh)
Go to a comedy show at Second City. Or any play or comedy type show, Chicago has good theater
go to the Signature Room on top of the Hancock for a drink (95 stories!)

Explore Neighborhoods like: Lakeview/Wrigleyville - alternative shopping type stuff... Lincoln Park for the great sports bars, Rush&Division or Weed Street for club type stuff, Wicker Park if you're a hipster is cool too.

Avoid Navy Pier unless you're a 13 year old kid. It's super touristy, seems to attract a lot of fat midwesterners for some reason.

There's a ton of stuff to do, up to you to do it! Any questions post, or PM me.

MisfitsFiend, your wife is expensive!

Lots of good ideas here. I suggest one of the river/lakeshore architectural cruises. Also, if you can spend some dough, one of the dinner lakeshore cruises is pretty cool - you get to see the city skyline at night.

IMHO, the John Hancock skydeck has a better view than the Sears Tower skydeck, even though it isn't as high.

There are lots of deep dish pizza places in Chicago. I'd like to add Uno's and Due's to the good ones already mentioned.

I really really enjoyed Blue Man Group. MSI recently was renovated. I just went there last month and it was totally different (and bigger) than when I went a few years ago. Be warned that it is not part of the "Museum Campus" mentioned previously.

If you check out the Field Museum of Natural History, be sure to look at the stuffed Lions from the movie, "The Ghost and the Darkness."

My fav. bar in the city is McGees, just like the place. Both John Barelycorns are cool.

I think there's enough to do in chicago for a tourist easily in 3 days, over a week if you really want to get to know the city. It's why I love living here.

Thanks for the good word ZZZZ! Didn't know we had any UChicago guys around here. I was just down in Hyde Park, I have a friend who is a Sophmore Econ major there.

Forgot to say, the Green Mill is good for Jazz.

Cheap place to eat lunch in the city is Potbelly, like a good version of subway, lots of locales in the city.

Some Decent bars (not high end places):
Hangge Uppes
Life?s Too Short
Hi-Tops (sports place)
Joes on Weed
Berghoff has the best beer ever! I love it, go there for one beer in the afternoon, not a hangout pickup type of bar.

BTW where are you staying?
