Get engaged?
Also, is it really scientolgy country down there? Do they bug you alot?
Yes. There are scientologists on every street corner asking for donations, trying to force their beliefs on you.
so it's like the athiests on this board?
There's not much to do in Clearwater Beach itself except go to the beach and a couple of decent restaurants.
The Rays stadium is in St. Pete. There's also the Salvador Dali museum there if you like that kind of thing. It just opened recently. In Tampa there's MOSI (Museum of Science and Industry) that's just west of USF.
Don't know anything about scuba diving around here. If you like fishing though you can always go on a 1/2 or full day excursion, or charter a boat of your own if you've got the cash for that.
For nighttime eating and drinking you can try the Riverwalk area in downtown Tampa. Plenty of places to eat and drink. One of my personal favorites there is Cafe Dufrain. Try the pork cheeks appetizer. It's amazing.
There are some dolphin tour boats, speed boat, pirate boat... the Scientologists are mainly downtown, not at the beach. Then there's the pier...
Having just moved here, this helps a little. I'm more in the sarasota area though, plenty of beaching/drinking to be done down here though.
I have a cousin named Julie down there. She's pretty much the sluttiest person I know, and that's saying a LOT, so feel free to look her up.
the musuem sounds nice. Air Conditioning!!!!
Visit the world's most comprehensive collection of works by the late Spanish surrealist. Come see why the Michelin Guide gave us the only three star rating on Florida's west coast, and AOL Travel News lists the museum as "One of the top buildings you have to see before you die."
Kinda, sorta true. They built a new building that is much larger and far more avante garde/Dali-esque than the previous building. It opened January of this year and they've expanded the exhibits quite a bit because of the increased space. So in a way it actually is new. Also, the museum isn't that new. It's been there nearly 30 years now. Trust me, it's really, really cool.
