What To Do When UPS Screws Up?

OK ..

i sold my XFX 6600GT AGP to a dude in california, the package went shipped UPS ground and was delivered on the 28th.

The package was delivered and signed by the wrong person, at the wrong adress. altho the receipt i got back when i shipped it clearly states it was shipped to the adress he gave me in a pm (which i have all pm's he ever wrote me saved)

Now the thing is, he told me not to ship to his house and to ship to his work which i did by his request.

And now he wants me to lose everything and get the insurance and give it all to him and for me to take a total loss

So what should I do?

If he requested that the card be shipped to his work address he should of arranged with the dock person/whoever signs for packages to have the card given to him once it was received.

But I'm not sure if you when say that UPS delivered to the wrong address, whether is was actually the wrong address or just to someother person at his work address.

If UPS messed up and delivered to the wrong address then call UPS and file a claim ASAP...hopefully you insured it for the right amount.

Edit: When it comes to insurance, you should receive a check from UPS of the amount you insured the item for. The buyer should be refunded the money he paid for the card and shipping..nothing else.

Why would you be out 125? You already got paid for the card if I am assuming correctly. You will get a check from UPS to refund what he paid. How are you out 125?

I don't even think UPS will write a check. They delivered it to the correct place in their eyes. I work with UPS from a retail store and they are sticklers about claims. I think the guy is SOL personally.

if i recall correctly, the receiver is the one who needs to make the phone call as to where their package is and why an unauthorized person signed for it... you mailed it, the burden is not on you

to get a tracer, you have to go back to the place where it was shipped from and the shipper has to do that which is me.

He should contact UPS and get it figured out. If you know who it was signed for and what address, tell him to go over there and get it.

If you shipped it to where he requested, then you are out of the picture. It's between him and UPS. UPS can refund him his money (was it shipped insured?) or he can argue with them all he wants. End result is you didn't do anything wrong. UPS messed up.
