What to do with an Aggressive Fish?

I have a fish tank which originally held 4 fish. Now it has 2. It seems one of the surviving fish is eating pieces out of the other fish. This is odd because the fish is a danio, which is typically a community fish that gets along with other fish. The fish he ate this morning was a male betta, which is an aggressive fish. I can't believe my aggressive fish (who incidentally made a good tank mate) let himself get eaten by a non-aggressive fish.

So anyway... I have two fish left: one is this aggressive danio; the other is a female betta whom he tried to eat once before, but I seperated the betta and let her heal in a separate tank. How would you guys handle this? I want to get more fish to rebuild my population, but I don't want the danio to take bites out of them. I also don't want to maintain a separate tank with just the offending fish in it. I'm further not too keen on just killing it. What would you guys do?

What size are we talking here?
Anyways, I'd kill it, filet it and give it to the neighbours, as I absolutely despise anything that came from the sea/a river.

Bring it to the store you brought it from. The aquarium stores I used to frequent had aggressive tanks they'd keep returns in.

Partitioning the tank isn't really an option due to the tank setup. I'm seriously leaning towards flushing it. I don't think I'm willing to risk the lives of my other fish and future fish. Ahh, it's tough to play god sometimes.

Yeah, but they're a pain in the butt.

See if your local pet store wants it back. When I used to have a few tanks every so often I'd get a fish that wasn't cooperative and I'd return it. My local pet store took them happily, though they didn't refund me or anything. Still, better than just killing it.

Call animal control - those 'Pit Danios' have been rumored to turn on and kill thier owners.

On the other hand, congradulation on having a reliable watch-fish.

Aww, don't flush the fish. Poor fishy

Ask any friends and see if they want to adopt it.

I have asked this very same question before. In fact, I was so fed up with the fish's behavior, that I went straight to asking "How do I beat my fish?" Cause he was a very, very bad fish.

So bad in fact, that he took it upon himself to eat the face off another one of my fishes. Which lived for a good two days with no face, I took pictures, tried to freeze him, he just wouldnt die, everyone had a great time overall....

If you've been around here for a few years, you just might remember it.
