What to do with old DSLR gear

So I have been a Canon shooter for over 15 years, my first DSLR was a Canon 40D (2007), and a Canon 5D (2005 I think, bought used) and Rebel XS ( 2009, bought used).

I do not shoot a whole lot these days, and even less now that I have a mirrorless for travel (Sony a6000). I am debating getting a newer body though. The 40D which is probably the best of the lot works fine, but anything close to ISO 1600 (Max 3200) and its noise central. Its good for general daytime portrait stuff, and concerts that I still shoot with. Same with the Rebel XS, which goes upto ISO 1600. The bigger sensor 5D goes upto 1600 (3200 on extended) but its a heavy as F camera. Useful for daytime photos honestly.

In the last 15 years the tech has changed a lot. Now you have multiple focus points and focus groups, unlike the existing bunch with 9 or 11 focus points. There is this whole cross-type points and what not else. Oh dont get me started with WiFi and touch screens and what not else...

I love my Sony a6000, but there is nothing like a freaking DSLR on the eye piece. The a6000 is a good travel camera but I dont have the lense selection and I am not spending $$$ on lenses, especially since I have so many EF prime lenses in my collection. Dont get me started with the flash incompatibility.

Ideally, I want to get a newer full-frame Canon DSLR, but the 6D Mark II is too pricey for me to justify use of it, I rather get a 6D with another crop body, or just get a crop body. Ultimately it will become my primary camera. I dont shoot concerts any more, and not doing enough to justify getting a super expensive camera. However, I know the need is there, and I am going to have to get one since the existing ones are getting a bit long in the tooth.

So what do I get.. and also what do I do with the older camera body's? I'd like it to go to some in need kids who can learn to take pictures and learn a skill. I am not sure how many kids these days are interested in learning about photography and stuff.

Better yet, keep the camera's and get something in a few years, since they are working pretty fine until now.

Get a 6D mk II.
It's 1600

Or the original 6D, it's full frame, it's 1000

How many canon lens do you have?

I decided to hold off on the purchase for a few months. I need to save up some $$$ but I can get a T7i / 77D if I really need a new kit.

The cameras work reasonably fine otherwise.

In response to the original question, I gave it all to my daughter-in-law.
