What to do with QX6850?

Hi, I currently have my Q6700 at 3.6 with my Tuniq and the cost of upgrading to the QX6850 would be about $100. I was wondering what the general consensus was on max stable OC with the QX6850 on air. (ill also be swapping my ram for Mushkin Redlines PC2-8000 2x2GB if that matters any)

So what would you all suggest I do with the QX6850? (already purchased, but not received yet).

Keep it. If you plan on going to DDR3 soon, you won't have to worry about getting DDR3 1600 or higher if you have an unlocked multi... just a thought

It is a wonderful processor (QX6850). Keep it, and sell your Q6700. You should be good for a long time...

thanks for the replies.

my initial intention was to keep it as i already have a buyer for my Q6700 if i so choose to keep the QX, but im wondering i'd be spending the extra $100 for no extra performance whatsoever...there's that issue and the issue of nehalem out in sept/oct. my intention was to upgrade before the end of the year (full system overhaul if nehalem blows away the conroe).

if i could get up to 3.6 on the QX with lower voltage (im currently @ 1.43) then i'd still be happy even if i couldn't get a higher OC with the QX.

any other suggestions?

i don't know... those QX6850 are worth a LOT of money right now, are only marginally better, and will be worth very little when neha hits.
If you are gonna sell it, now is the time.

yeah, I would sell the QX6850 on ebay. you'll probably make good money on it as it IS a $1000 processor allegedly...

the shipping, taxes and customs are definitely a pain in the ass though...

Sell it. As you know it will not OC much beyond what you have now unless you upgrade your cooling. Unlocked multi's are nice if you use extreme cooling, otherwise they are just a way to swing your e-penis.

I just found out that the QX6850 isn't supported by the intel D975XBX2 (BadAxe2) ... oh well... time to get another board that will
