Congrats on getting into running! As others have said, it really won't matter much as long as you don't eat right beforehand. Staying hydrated helps, too.
Personally, my body is awful before I get it warmed up. Before I go for a 'real' run (like training), I generally have to run a 1/2 mile, stretch, etc.
Very true for me too. Yesterday, I ran at the actual course I'm going to be running on saturday so I can get a feel for the hill and pavement. I didn't warm up properly and gassed half way through, ended up doing it in 14 minutes.
The second time, I waited about 15 minutes after I ran the first time and I was already revved up, did it in 12:30.
