I'm in MA, guess clam chowda.

My town has the best holier-thans-thou's, topped with stay out.

After so many years of living with animals, it takes more than vomit or diarrhea to gross me out. It pretty much has to involve critters crawling out of puss to score a hit.

It wasn't so much the gross out factor I wanted to share, it was much more about how well the doggy artfully presented his interpretation of beans on toast.

Beans and toast isn't bad actually for breakfast, i'd eat that over porridge, oatmeal or conge any day

I despise the texture of porridge and congee. I think it's because my mom used to make congee every time I was sick growing up. So I just got back from my trip to Asia and I guess congee is super popular in Hong Kong. I avoided it the entire trip but on my flight back, they had a seafood congee option for breakfast. Someone asked me to give it a shot so I did and it was great. Although, the way they made it, there was no rice grain texture at all to it and it was almost a complete soup so that might have not been the perfect example/attempt lol.

Went out to a little seafood place on the beach, had a cup of clam chowder, some steamed clams and a lobster roll. That's like the perfect New England meal.

I'm out of Texas: Here are a few things I can think of.....

Kolaches - Originally derived from Czech, we have certainly changed things up - but plenty of people hear the word Kolache and say "What's that?" so I figured it was worth a mention

Tex Mex / Mexican food... All the same shit, revolves around the same shit of Rice/Beans. It's gotten so boring that I haven't gone to a mexican resuarant in like.. 5 years.

BBQ - No doubt, Texas is known for the best BBQ Brisket, Sausage, etc.. in the world. Lockhart, TX is a staple for learning what real BBQ is all about

Beef Jerky / Dried sausage - Similar to above.

that's all I can think of at the moment.

So Cal same.

Also we're known for food fads. Social media has blown this up.

Right, t's nice to be able to pick what is basically essentially any cuisine and then find multiple options to try. Although I did try to find a place in NYC that specialized in that Singapore Chicken Rice dish and didn't find much, so there are misses. But they are rare.

SoCal is not known for spanish food, jewish delis or eastern european food, excluding russian food which we seem to have a lot of.
