I despise the texture of porridge and congee. I think it's because my mom used to make congee every time I was sick growing up. So I just got back from my trip to Asia and I guess congee is super popular in Hong Kong. I avoided it the entire trip but on my flight back, they had a seafood congee option for breakfast. Someone asked me to give it a shot so I did and it was great. Although, the way they made it, there was no rice grain texture at all to it and it was almost a complete soup so that might have not been the perfect example/attempt lol.
That doesn't look bad, every hotel we stayed at in SEA and our last 2 cruises on HA had congee available for breakfast and it looked nothing like that lol
