That doesn't look bad, every hotel we stayed at in SEA and our last 2 cruises on HA had congee available for breakfast and it looked nothing like that lol
I despise the texture of porridge and congee. I think it's because my mom used to make congee every time I was sick growing up. So I just got back from my trip to Asia and I guess congee is super popular in Hong Kong. I avoided it the entire trip but on my flight back, they had a seafood congee option for breakfast. Someone asked me to give it a shot so I did and it was great. Although, the way they made it, there was no rice grain texture at all to it and it was almost a complete soup so that might have not been the perfect example/attempt lol.

Louisiana = crawfishes/po-boys/gumbo, personally, I do like their blacken alligator meat. My friends from the North love them too.

yep. beer can chicken is waste of good beer. The beer can does nothing other than look cool. Spatchcok chicken is much better way to cook a chicken on a grill. Grits, BBQ, fried chicken, chicken fried steak, cornbread, hushpuppies, potato salsa, fried okra, biscuits & gravy, pecan pie, sweet potato pie, peach cobbler, pralines and banana pudding.
