What version of Linux do you use?

I use SUSe 9.3 pro, its a nice OS for, well, everything with the exception of gaming. I use Windows XP (sigh... I know) for gaming.

Ubuntu currently, and I recently installed it in place of PCLinuxOS. Both are great, IMHO, but I'm going thru a "Linux Experimentation Stage."

I haven't tried too many varients of Linux. The first one I tried was Fedora Core 3, it didn't really 'appeal' to me so my brother sent (he lives in Cambridge whilst I'm in South Dublin, Ireland) me a licenced version of SUSe 9.3 and its very nice.

It makes for a really good workstation for me -- I like gnome and do my coding with Python and pyGTK.

As for the distro/s I use, Mandriva (desktop) and Fedora Core 3 (server). I occasionally use Knoppix and Damn Small Linux as well.

Indeed! Using Ubuntu "Hoary" on my laptop (Inspiron 9200) and RH9 at work (Shuttle). Thinking about switching my work machine over to Debian though. I just don't have the time to spare to do that unless I came in on a weekend to do it.

Looking at the support calls we get for Windows at work and watching all of my friend's complain about their Windows problems and fixing their family/friend's computers, I'd have to say that I get a lot more 'ease of use' out of using Linux.

And of course you came to start something, otherwise you wouldn't have posted in a thread that obviously didn't pertain to you.

Fedora Core Devel from 5-06-2005...not really playing with it till FC4 comes out and then going to try to pimp it out as much as possible. I found a friend who is a linux guru that can do real time troubleshooting, but he is a gentoo man and said he'll do anything(he is EXTREMELY knowledgeable) but once it came to dependency hell don't even bother him and he will just tell me to switch to Gentoo
