what video card?

im getting a new alienware laptop. the 51m 7700 for a desktop replacement i can take places.

It offers 2 video cards.

ATI X800 mobile 256mb DDR3
Or
Nvidia Geforce 6800 Go 256mb DDR3

Ill be playing games like sims 2, battlefield 2. (mostly 1st person shooters and stuff that require good graphics.

Which one should i get?

Well, at the moment both are the best on the market. I'm more inclined to say the X800 because i've got one for a desktop and it's awesome. Both should be fine whatever the choice. If you're buying a 7700 you're definitely not cash strapped! Look for some benchmarks, either here or at Toms Hardware Guide.

sims 2 should be fine on any of those video cards. Battlefield 2 I am unsure of. But it should work fine on any of them. For Half Life 2, you should get the x800

There are two versions of the Geforce Go 6800, one with DDR1 memory and one with DDR3 memory. The DDR1 version doesn't quite measure up to the X800, but the DDR3 version is superior to the X800. Eurocom, which uses the same Arima barebones notebook kit as Alienware's Area-51m 7700 (and all Geforce Go 6800 notebooks), is going to be shipping the DDR3 version in a couple of weeks. Given the DDR3 version's increased performance and PureVideo support, I'd say get the Eurocom D900T Phantom with the DDR3 6800 (unless you're really committed to Alienware).

Edit: Whoops, Alienware already has the DDR3 version, and it looks like they're a little cheaper.
