I'd like to see a study which shows that people who take multivitamins live longer vs people who just eat healthy.

What are the differences between flaxseed oil and fish oil?
Flaxseed oil in liquid form twice daily seems to be the way to go?

Right now I'm only taking a chewable Vitamin C, but need to put some new ones into my daily routine.

I have tried similar products like that, and my overall experience was okay. Herbal vitamins and remedies are all well and good, but usually not much science goes into their effectiveness for each indivdual product. Usually the consensus is, throw in that herb, and this herb, and "oh that's healthy, throw it in." and you end up taking 4 pills a day, for only half of your daily values in vitamins.Originally posted by: SagaLore

That isn't an herbal remedy though, it is a whole food. It's like eating a big bowl of oatmeal... followed by some brown rice... then snacking on some seaweed... then some barley... then...
All of which are high in minerals and vitamins.

Then why not eat that anyway? I take vitamins to supplemnt my food, not to replace it.

Why do people take fish oil?
Who should take it?
What are the benefits, are there any risks?
I have been looking at Costco's available products and I really did not see any that impressed me. The reason why is they only carry generic multivitamins (which can be fine), and I would recomend some flax seed oil, of which they only have capsules. Flax seed oil is better taken in liquid form because most people recomend taking 10g of flax seed oil a day. A teaspoon of liquid flax seed oil (one servining size) is 5g (one does in the morning and one before bed). the average gelcap only has 1g of flax seed oil.
To answer your question about flax seed oil: Here is an article. It covers mostly everything I was going to say, but I have to run out soon and do not have the time to type something out lol
Also I would recomend buying your vitamins online from here: The Vitamin Shoppe
They have the best prices around (sometimes also has good prices) and you accumulate points everytime you buy something which usually makes for great discounts in the future.
I would reccomend trying these:
Flax seed oil, for reasons mentioned above. If you have any more questions about flax do not hesitate to ask.
This multivitamin You could take a three a day multivitamin, because usually you cannot get all your minerals and vitamins in sufficient numbers in one pill, but because of convience this is probably your best bet. The 300 count is much cheaper per oz then the 100.
If you eventually get into it and nutrition a bit more and like how you feel etc, for you, you might want to add 1000mg of vitamin C a day also.

Regarding that multivitamin, One-A-Day Men's is advertising "lycopine"?

GNC multi vitamin...time release
Lots of GNC buyers here... my personal opinion is that their stuff is junk. Their calcium supplements use carbonate, their vitamins are synthetic.
Be careful with time released pills especially if it is B Complex. A study was done about B, and they found synthetic B actually caused more problems with your heart. Also, when it is time released, it can damage your liver because it isn't prepared for them so far down the small intestine.
