IBM-DOS 3.3 on an IBM PS/2 Model 50

Then IBM-DOS 4.0 on an IBM PS/1 (I forget what model, but it was a 286 with 1MB RAM)
Upgraded to MS-DOS 6.22 and Windows 3.1 (a tight fit on a 30MB hard disk)

Then on to new machines with Windows 98 SE, Windows 2000 Pro, Windows XP Pro, and now Windows XP x64 edition. Simultaneously at various times, various distributions of Linux (through 2.2, 2.4, and 2.6 kernels), Windows 2000 Server, and Windows 2003 Server.

DOS. Not sure what version, but it was on a Tandy laptop we owned. Don't even remember what model Tandy it was since it was so long ago.

DOS of some sort. Followed promptly by Unix at my dad's work. School I was trained all the way with Macs.
I think in 3rd grade or so we got to Win3.1, but I really DIDN'T like it, and save for MS PAINT, I'd spent most of my time in DOS.

I didn't get to try win95 will 7th or 8th grade. So up till then, I was all Macs.

From 8th grade till about 10th I stuck with win95 and then moved to win98, and held that till 2002 or so. After that got a free copy of win2k from my school so I used that. Only last year I went to XP because a program I wanted required XP, and my school gets it for free.

From about 8th grade i started to dabble with linux...started with drake 8.1 and over the years never really botehred to lean them but i jumped around like crazy between different versions of mandrake, fedora/redhat, suse. Then one day I realized linux isn't supposed to be exactly like windows and i redhat 8 a more serious spin. I got a lot of stuff accomplished and learned quite a few things. then i installed redhat9 and never touched it.
About a few months i decided to go more serious into it, and I went Ubuntu and since i haven't looked bad...though I wish I put more 10 gigs for my linux drive~ WOW itself takes up 4 gigs

for personal use.. I don't know the first OS I've ever used. Didn't understand the concepts back then. It could of been a early dos, but it could of been a early Apple DOS. Not sure.

The first OS that I was able to actually use would be MS-DOS 2.x, then a few versions of that then eventually Dos 6.00 (not 6.22) and Windows 3.something. I'd play tie fighter on them and such. I remember having to boot using a floppy disk to get extra memory in order to play the game.

Then Windows 95. After that I eventually got my own computer and used a copy of Windows 98 until I discovered Linux towards the end of 2000 with Redhat 7. I had a few copies of Windows 2000 and Windows XP that've I installed, but they never lasted more then a few weeks. Now I am a die-hard Debian user.

I don't even remember the name but it was on an APPLE II I believe? I just remember in the 80's I used to go over to my uncle's and play on his computer, everything was in black and green, no color. Other than that, Win 3.1 was the first OS I had personally.

Memories...roaring...back! Flying...wingman...for...Darth...Vader! That's almost me exactly. Except switch '2000' with '2003', 'Redhat 7.1' with 'Slackware 9.0', and 'Debian' with 'Slackware'.

Windows 3.1 on MS-DOS 5.1 running on an insanly fast Packard Bell 25 MHz i486SX with 4MB of RAM and a 102 MB HDD. The system got OS/2 2.1 afterward, then it went back to DOS, and it ran Windows 95 for awhile. Now it's my server running Debian.

1975 .. I started repairing the Philips 350 accounting computers. They were the size of a piano. The OS (they called it micro) and programs were loaded from Punch cards. The programs remained in memory (ferite core) with power off. Customer data was kept on 12" X 14" index cards with a magnetic stripe, so the cards could be printed upon and filed. They would then be re-fed into the computer to update the account on the next line. Total memory was about 16K in 4 12" X 14" cards of ferite cores.

We also worked on Dec PDP4s, which could be programed with the front panel switches and the next command ... line by line. We were very happy indeed when punch tape was avaliable, even though the driver had to be keyed in to make it work.

About a year or so after this, small systems started coming out with dual 12" Shugart (about 50K) diskettes that ran on cp/m, drdos, or msdos 1.0 and 32K of volitile memory. This seemed like magic at the time, and only the size of what now is a 35" TV.
Yeah memories

I think the first computer I used was a 512K Macintosh running System 5 (not 100% sure, coz I was only 4 years old)
I definitely remember using Acorn MOS on computers that we used to have at primary school. Then I used MS-DOS 6.0 on my 286. After that it was PC-DOS 2.1 (IBM JX), later Windows 95 and so on.

DOS 2.1 forward. Also worked with the Amiga and Commodore PET if that's defined as an OS. Programmed basic on the PET and with an analog connection to a mainframe, did my RPG II, COBOL and PL1 stuff.
