Fixed that for ya As stated above, it's less likely to cause a scene or worse.

i don't quite understand this. why would the person getting fired on a friday cause less of a scene than any other day?? is it because they are too tired out for the week, and if it was monday they would be fresh and rejuvenated because of the prior weekend?

and another question, about what time do they fire him/her?? is it at the end of his workday?? or the beginning?

They due towards the end of the day on friday with security present so that by time they open again on monday you have cooled off enough not to go postal. Earlier in the day or work week and you might have time to go home and come back with you AK-47 or such before you cool off

this is making too much sense. i have a suspicion that i will get fired, and it will be end of day on a friday. should i even go to work that friday?? then just come back on monday and see whats up?? do you think they will change the security badge access before monday? or will they call me up and fire me over the phone?? im thinking if they have to do it in person, ill just show up next monday (nov1), in the morning, and then they have to take the chance of me going postal

or put on a sad face and make yourself sound suicidal on fridays, that can't fire you if they think it might put you over the edge.

"The only good thing in my life is this job and i get so depressed on the weekends because i am away from here....sob...sob....tear...sob."...not fired....evil smile...boss is coming so more sobs.....a little muahaha under you breath....still working on monday.

I really need to get some sleep....

or when ever the boss wants to talk to you on a friday bring your hand grenade paper weight. Just non-chalantly tell him its a dud, unlike the ones in your car/desk.

PSA - smart companies fire people on Mondays so the employee doesn't have the
weekend to sit at home and brood about payback.

Just a couple of weeks ago my company laid off 5% off the people. We were sitting at our cubes dreading when the guy in the suit would come and stand by the desk and ask us to leave.
I was one of the fortunate ones to keep my job. Saw so many people I knew for a long time escorted out.
And yes it happened on a monday.

My company let go a bunch of field people and for the most part they all got a phone call saying sorry but you're fired, turn in your laptop and final expense report. On the other hand they were probably the very few people who qualified for unemployment in the company's history.
They kept it really quiet, I didn't even know about it until I got a call saying I wasn't one of the ones to be fired. Pretty nerve racking way to find it out.

Eh, either way once you're fired you're going to have plenty of time to plot your revenge.

He he, I was going to say, the weekend is what gives most the time to cool off. Or at least the building will be empty when it gets burnt to the ground.

fridays & the days before holidays are the worst because
most businesses are closed & people can't start applying & interviewing right away.
if you're fired on monday, then you can start immediately thinking of finding
another job as your new "job."
