Worst phone: I have to say it's a toss up, between the Kindle Fire phone and the HTC Titan II.

Worst tablet, I'd have to say the Blackberry

Best phone, another toss up, iPhone 5s/the Note series of phones till they neutered it.

Best tablet: iPad Air II, still have it, need to list it on Swappa.

I am going to say the T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy SII. First smartphone and first disappointment. Lagged out of the box, archaic touchwiz, etc. Received one update, but I rooted and played with different roms anyways. The build quality was very good, though.

Bought the Nexus 4 later on and it was the best smartphone ever.

Worst phone purchase was my M8. It was pretty awesome in 2014 when I had Kitkat on it and it synced perfectly with my Wear watch but it was all downhill from there thanks to Lollipop lag.

Worst tablet is way worse than the worst phone purchase- My Transformer Prime. Hardware flaw (that concluded up with a BS settlement USB adaptor), terrible flash storage, and not very responsive screen. Probably the worst technology money I ever spent.

Best phone purchase was my wife's Note 4, she is still using it today and loves it.

Best tablet purchase was an iPad 2, but the Nexus 7 2013 is pretty close to it.

I changed the title... Good post.

Worst Phone - Samsung Epic - GPS never worked, and weak antenna.

Worst tablet - Have only had a nook, can't really complain. Does what I want.

Best phone - sadly, to date it is my wife's old iphone 5.

Best tablet - see worst tablet.

Worst Phone- Samsung Epic. (galaxy s1 variant) The GPS never worked right on that thing and it was dog slow out of the gate.

Worst Tablet- Kindle Fire HD. It had a HD screen before it had the SOC to power a HD screen. It was great for movies or books, but awful for anything else.

Best Phone- LG G2. Loved that thing. right size. right resolution. Everything worked great. Just aged.

Best Tablet- ipad air 2. Still fast as hell a year and a half later.

Worst phone: 6s Plus. I'll never understand....

Worst tablet: Motorola Xoom on launch day. $850!!!

Best phone: Nokia 1520, Note 4

Best tablet: Not really a 100% tablet but I use it as one 75% of the time, Surface Book.

Worst tablet: Maybe the Acer Iconia I got when Honeycomb was relatively new. It wasn't particularly terrible, but it was early and it just wasn't good enough to warrant the price.

Worst phone: Maybe the Moto Atrix. I hesitate to call it the worst because it was my first taste of Android, and it was good enough for me to stick w/ Android from then on.

Best phone: Between Note 4 and the 6P. Both have things that I like over the other so I can't choose one.

Best tablet: Surface Pro 3.

Best Phone: Samsung S6

Best Tablet: Surface Pro 4

Worst Phone: LG G3

Worst Tablet: Haven't had a "bad" one, but never realized how much better the Surface is over the iPad Air 2 I had until I switched. Being able to use it as a tablet or a full blown computer is ridiculously awesome.

Best phone: iPhone 5. The 6 I use now is better, of course, but the 5 was such an improvement and served me well.

Best tablet: iPad Air. Let's put it this way: it's almost 3 years old and still doing well. It's my morning wake-up / evening wind-down machine and a good Sonos controller.

Worst phone: Galaxy Nexus. Don't get me wrong, I actually liked a lot about it, but it had poor battery life and a so-so camera.

Worst tablet: iPad 3. Great screen, but it was heavy and didn't age gracefully.

Worst Tablet was easily my Asus Transformer TF101.

Not sure what my worst phone was. I'm not sure I've purchased a dud phone. My dad bought a Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime and it's kinda junky.

Worst phone: HTC myTouch 4G, my first cell phone. Slow, bloated and dated.

Worst tablet: Apple iPad 3, didn't really like the size or that it was outdated the minute I bought it. Bought the wrong generation or should have waited for a deal on an iPad mini 2/3.

Best phone: Nexus 5 for $40 courtesy of this deal. Pure Android, 4.95" of perfection, wireless charging, it served me well for 2 years.

Best tablet: LG G Pad X 8.0 for $40 AR. The tablet is used around 2-3 hours a week for checking email/reading news, Youtube videos, love that it's Marshmallow, the petite size, weight and especially price.

Best phone: XDA orbit with copilot GPS software loaded on it. It gave an idea in 2006 what we'd be able to do now.

Worst phone: I've kinda gotten something positive out of all the phones I've owned.

Worst tablet: HP Touchpad. Abandoned shortly after launch most of the software was dysfunctional.

Best Tablet: HP Touchpad. I had great fun flashing various Android builds on to it.

Samsung's tablet strategy has been totally hit-or-miss, I think. For every success like the Tab Pro, there's a bomb like the Tab 2.

Part of it may just be that the company hasn't had the best sense of direction for tablets. I still remember seeing the original Galaxy Tab 10.1, which aped the original iPad, and watching as the company "conveniently" redesigned it in five weeks to make it more like the iPad 2. Samsung is much better these days, of course, but it still seems to flounder a bit unless it has a clear rival to beat.

Best Phone(s): Blackberry Bold 9700/Blackberry 9780
Worst Phone: Lumia 800
Best Tablet: Kindle Fire HD 6 (for my 5 year old)
Worst Tablet: Tabeo e for my 8 year old.

The Bold was bullet proof and did exactly what I wanted at the time (pre-BB implosion). Great keyboard and could go 3 days or more on a single charge.

The Lumia felt like a toy but for less than $100 what could expect. The app store didn't have a call blocking app at the time and those tiles are just a bunch of clutter if you get more than about a dozen. Battery life was bad, too.

My kids use the tablets and the Kindle Fire HD 6 is perfect for everything my 5 year old wants to do (for $99 two years ago).

The Tabeo is/was a piece of crap. My ex-wife actually bought it so it's off my consci

Best phone: HTC One M7. It's simply a winner (not to mention pretty). More than three years old now and still runs like a champ. For the $230 out of pocket I spent on it (because of some extremely fortunate trade-in deals I got), everything else I have ever owned is just no contest for it.

Best tablet: Samsung Galaxy Note Pro. Beautiful, large screen. Fantastic battery. Not much else to say.
Honorable mention: HP Touchpad. Still getting Android ports even now up to Marshmallow. Standing proud next to my couch on its Touchstone charging stand. Spent only $120 for it, almost five years ago. Damn.

It's really hard to decide on the worst, as I've never actually regretted a phone/tablet purchase and/or think any of them are 'bad'.

For tablets, maybe the two atom-based Windows tablets (7 and 8 inches) that I bought last year. They're not bad, but they ended up getting used very sparingly because their functionality has been covered by other devices. They also came pretty cheap (maybe $125 out of pocket total) and each of them came with a year of Office 365 subscription. Not exactly a loss. I would sell them but not sure if anyone would pay money for them now that people could get dozens of different types of Chromebooks and Windows 2-in-1s with not much more money, with more power and similar functionality.

For phones, I probably have to go way back to the Motorola V635 back in 2004. It was supposed to be great phone, but it lasts less than two weeks in my possession until I sold it. Again, not necessarily because the device was bad, but after ~9 years of carrying a candybar phone I decided back then to test a flip and found out that I absolutely hated that form factor. So I went back to Nokia. Of course.

My least favorite phone purchase was the HTC PPC-6700. It wasn't really a purchase, Sprint replaced my 6600 with it. I gained EVDO but lost the ability to do anything useful because the device was crap.

The best device I've ever owned was the Treo 700wx. What a fantastic device.
Runner ups would be the iPhone 3G, Hitachi G1000, iPhone 4 and PPC-6600 in that order.

I'd guess I'd have to give a mentionable to the Toshiba 2032. It was my first cellular PDA and really opened up a whole new world but the device itself was pretty bad.

I don't think I've ever owned a device that I would consider bad.

My phone(galaxy s5) wins by default. It's my first and only smartphone. Worst tablet was a cheap Chinese mips platform. Herculean battery life, but infuriatingly slow, and since it was mips, some apps weren't compiled with support. Hard to be mad at it though. As long as expectations were realistic, it had its place.

Worst phone: LG optimus (Virgin mobile's first android phone)

Worst tablet: HP Stream 7 (very cold screen, normal glass screen cracked in no time)

Best phone: LG G4 (current)

Best tablet: Ipad mini 2 (all in all, I think apple does tablets better still).

Worst Phone: Motorola Droid. It's not a bad phone but I had bought it as a hold over because it was cheap. It was just to old when I bought it, slow and hardly usable. Best guess is the new OS was to much for the hardware in the phone. Owned many Androids and enjoyed the OS. (If memory serves HTC Hero was my first Android)

Best Phone: Toss up. I've absolutely loved every iPhone I've had from the 4S through my current 6. The other contender is the Palm Pre. I absolutely loved that phone! The phone itself had some build issues but the OS was ahead of it's time and even had wireless charging. I hate that it failed, I really really loved the thing.

Worst Tablet: None. First was an iPad 2 and several since. Enjoyed them all.

Best Tablet: iPad Air 2. Newest one I've owned and it has been wonderful. Beautiful screen and extremely fast. Would like a new Pro but the Air 2 is more than fast enough and cannot justify the upgrade.

Worst is a tie between a Samsung Galaxy S and an Iphone 3Gs.

The Iphone was great at first, but turned into laggy junk after a few updates.

The Galaxy has horrendous GPS and call quality was garbage.

Best is my Nexus 5. Battery was mediocre, speakers were way too quiet; but beyond that its been nothing but a pleasure for two years. Still less lag than any touchwiz phone I've seen.
