Dork.

LOL I so miss Elite Force, I spent untold hours on it. The expansion pack was great too. Gamed on it with the already mentioned Geforce 2 Ultra. That in combo with a P4 and 512MB of Rambus.

Radeon 9700 Pro, truly a marvellous feat of engineering, especially when compared to the abysmal 5800 Ultra.

Genoa System V-Raptor Rendition Verite V2200 PCI 8MB

None of those trashy 16-bit 3DFX Voodoo textures for me.

8800GT, single slot. That was a respectable card for an incredibly long time.

Going from trying to run Quake 1 in Software to Hardware with a Voodoo1.
It was a never look back moment.

8800gts 512mb by evga. Card is still in a friends machine and she games at 1440x900 and shes a happy camper.

Nice to know my favorite card was the replacement for her old favorite card being the tried and true 9700 pro.

With all the console ports out on pc i doubt the g80/g92 core will die off any time soon .

3-way SLI GTX 580s

In terms of performance longevity, two 12MB Voodoo 2s in SLI.

Not very old, but I think the 8800GT. Simply an epic card for when it came out.

I think 2006 was one of the best years for tech this past decade. Core 2, GeForce 8800 series.

My graphics timeline went something along the lines of this...

Voodoo3 3000 -> ti4600 -> 9800Pro -> 6600GT -> 8800GTS -> 5850

I smile every time I look at one of these threads because it just reinforces the good decisions I've made in GPU upgrades

Well the voodoo 1 made the biggest impression on me. I remember that came with a special 3dfx only version of mechwarrior 2 and being the envy of all my friends.

STB Velocity 4400 16mb

It came with my first PC and was the first dedicated card I had any experience with. Coming from my Dad's PackardBell with onboard whatever, it was a massive leap.

Paired with a P3 500mhz I had the fastest PC in school which meant nothing outside of my friends but it was TFC slaying machine back in the day.

Looking back I wish I had taken that money and invested.

Voodoo 2 all the way. It was a monster back in the day, with a whole 12MB of VRAM!! And it supported SLI, so you could have two of them. This meant you could play games like Quake 1 at 1024x768 at full frame rates! (Which was 72fps unless you hacked it, then you could speed jump faster )

Anyone who is old enough will say Voodoo/Voodoo2. It was just that good when it came out.

My favorites:

Voodoo, because it was the first product that changed my way of thinking about PC gaming

Voodoo 5500, because it was the first product, for me, that offered an ability to improve the quality of the game, with their high quality RGSSSAA.

ATI Radeon 9700 Pro, because it offered a nice balance of performance/AA/AF quality with an impressive feature set.

ATI Radeon 1900XTX, because if offered a nice balance of performance/AA/AF quality with an impressive feature set.

I loved when I upgraded from a GeForce 2 GTS 32mb to a GeForce 4 Ti4200 128mb. Running Counter-Strike with AA and AF was so cool.

Riva TNT 2 was nice.

I came from 8800GT 2007.... memorable...

Voodoo5 5500. The FSAA actually worked on Diablo II (even the 2D maps somehow). Between that and Glide it was great.
