I still have a Canopus Pure3D (not in my comp though). It came with a cool sticker: "I got a Can-o-pus!"

There was a 2MB V1?

I had a S3 Virge 4mb. I could only get two games to work: Moto GP and Descent ... it had great 2d though, it's still in the parent's computer at home.

I don't have any idea what card was in my dad's computer (I never had a system of my own that was capable of anything other than SimCity 2000), but the first card I got in my computer was a GeForce SDR almost two years ago.

You're not bashing SimCity 2000, are you? That game was, no, IS one of the best games ever made!

Had a few S3virge4mb cards though my first REAL 3d card was the Pure3d Voodoo card, the first one on the market with 6MB of RAM. Also it would overclock from 60 to 66 mhz.

Mine was a 2MB S3 ViRGE that I upgraded to 4MB by snapping 8x256k VRAM modules into it.

That card was such a POS, I upgraded to a 8MB Voodoo2 not long after.

The same one I have now..

Nvidia RivaTNT

I don't think the S3 card should be in there.. I mean, you can't play games in OpenGL with them.. But .. lol.. I used a S3 ViRGE 4mb card for a long ass time.. lol

Dude, I remember my friend bought a Verite. It was about $200, if I remember right...

I had a S3 virge, S3 Trio, Trident, ATI Rage, ATI Rage 128, and ATI 3D Rage. Those were my first taste in 3D. Or, at least, that's what they claimed. My first real 3D was a Voodoo 1, I guess.

yikes...matrox mystique, sold on the packaged game it came with. Demolition Derby 2. As I look back, I was easyly amused by low quality graphics.

My path.......
Matrox Mystique 4mb -> Matrox m3D add-on 4mb -> Riva TNT 16mb -> Voodoo3 3500 16mb -> Radeon AIW 7500 64mb > Radeon AIW 8500 64MB

Looking at my path, and if the pattern continues on the video ram onboard... I will have 256mb on my next card. Ram is cheap enough, anything can happen.

My path.......
Matrox Mystique 4-MB (PCI) >Matrox G-200 8-MB > Riva TNT 16-MB (Canopus 2500)> Matrox G-400 MAX 32-MB> Radeon 8500-64MB

Anand said in a very early review that Mystique was synonymous with CRAP. He was sooo right!
