What was your first job?

Data entry clerk/cleaner at my parent's business. My first outside gig was the same thing for this sketchy tree farm. That didn't last long.

i helped my dad, he worked for a big corp.
he did crop trials for experimental varieties of plants, mostly corn and asparagus. a little beans/peas i think

me and some other teenage boys did all the grunt work, weeding, pollinating , checking irrigation, harvesting, collecting yield data, other data on size/quality of product. canning samples to send to other researchers. basically corporate research farmer

i did have paper routes earlier than that, but if it was raining/snowy, my mom would drive me, so i dunno if that counts so much

Picking blueberries. Got picked up at a store with other pickers at 6am and got dropped off at the same store at 6pm.

$14/day.

Having done that job, almost 20 years later, I still wash blueberries thoroughly. Pickers pee on those things.

My best day was when a customer pulled me aside and gave me a $5.00 tip (which was huge for me at the time) because he see that I was busting my ass that night.
