And then any Apogee game I could get my hands on, especially liked Commander Keen and the first Duke Nukem. How the mighty have fallen...

Battlefield 2, played the demo and then bought the cd rom version of the game from Frys.First gaming machine built just for that game and the only game series that keeps me tracker beamed in still to this day.

Asus P4c800-e deluxe motherboard and all the parts out of a Dell Dimension 2400 with a bad motherboard minus a $20 fanless 6200le went into my first gaming computer lol.

sierra games back in the 90s, most memorable experience. ofcourse there were other games, but the most memorable were definitely the sierra games (hero's quest being the best!)

Same! Getting that InterAction magazine in the mail was like the best feeling ever.

Very first game might have been Oregon Trail. First memorable game was Kings Quest 3 I believe, or maybe Leisure Suit Larry 1.

Sounds about right if i know what your getting at.Was 19 when i built my first rig. Before that i had a PS2.So old school i was playing a old original nes all the way up till 2001 lol.

If nostalgia and me count for anything here,i had at one point a Commodore 64 in 2008 with everything but a printer and had some pinball game on a floppy but the system had a "memory at 0 error" which told of a bad memory module.:'(

Hunt the Wumpus.. I had a 4th and 5th grade teacher who let students who took interest in computers take home his Radio Shack computer home for the weekend.. he had a big assed cart to haul the thing home. (I lived a couple blocks from the school).. and I typed in games and wrote my own stuff.

But I'd say the first best gaming experience was some form of Ultima on an Apple II, once we finally got a computer of our own in the house.

I remember when the family bought our first PC. It came with a bunch of games, and we were having a bad time installing them (no wizards at the time). From what we could gather we were following all of the instructions correctly, and were typing the "installation directory" properly. We finally gave up and called neighbors for help. As it turns out there's two kinds of slashes... Whoops

Literal first PC was Oregon Trail.

Actual first experiences first was an Bullfrog I think gamepack with Theme Park, Syndicate, Power Monger, and one other game that I can no longer remember the name of.

I barely remember playing them, Theme Park was a blast once I played it. Syndicate was awesome too. Didn't reallly play Power Monger.

The part that really jumps out at me was trying to figure out dos and get the cd's to run and all that. I didnt have parents that were computer literate at all, so it was all touch and go and manuals. Good times. Theme Park really was and I'm sure still is awesome. I actually just picked up Syndicate Wars today lol, nostalgia(even though I played the first one and not Syndicate Wars, but I'm hoping its pretty much the same as the original...).

This is the first game advertised that really made me want a computer when I was growing up. I saw it advertised in gaming mags and thought omfg, it looks epic! Graphics int his seemed unreal to me back then, even for static images which looked better than games like ShadowGate on NES that I was used to seeing.

I think it was probably Lemonade Stand on the Apple II. It was on a cart and wheeled into each classroom, as it was the only computer in the grade school. Shortly thereafter, my older brother received an Atari 800 for Christmas. We had Bruce Lee on cassette and Gateway to Apshai on cartridge. Both were fantastic games for the day.

Commander Keen is my first PC gaming memory. I might even still have the paper floppy disk somewhere. And also Wolfenstein 3d. I *think* the PC was a 486, but can't remember.
