My first unofficial job was working on my grandfathers lobster boat for about 45 hrs a week, when I was 15. Was making about $450 a week
Now I work for tech support at a local ISP (Shore.Net) part time, I love it here, there's not much I can complain about.
The one i'm at right now.
i started as a summer intern during college, and have since come on full time as a software engineer (why did i stay w/ them? 3 letters: i... p... o...)
yeah, i guess i was lucky enough that i never needed or wanted a job until college. (some would say spoiled.)
When I was Paulson's age, I was mowing lawns and delivering newspapers. After two years, I quit the newspaper job and cashed in my carrier savings account from the newspaper. I had enough bucks in there to buy a 10 Watt Radio Shack receiver and jam to Boston songs all day long.
Capn, I was lobstering out of Swampscott, it was a good job now that I think about it. Are you on Shore or do you just know about us? Where exactly do you live on Western Ave? Just thought that it's weird that someone else from Lynn would be here
My first "job" was mowing my grandmothers lawn for $10 at age 13-14.
Then I got a job at a Rottweiler Kennel cleaning and feeding in the morning before school and in the afternoon after school. $40/month.
First real (read "taxable" job was at a local metal shop sweeping up for 3-4 hours everyday after HS. I got to work full time during the summer running bandsaws and doing some pick-up and delivery for them. Started at $3.25/hr after 2 years was at $4.25, thanks to uncle sam raising the min. wage.
Then I went to college and worked at Hardee's for about a year.
Then JCPenney in the suit department.
Then in the local R&D department of a worldwide abrasives company.
genocide, I don't actually live in Lynn, just commute to there for work. I work for everyone's favorite jet engine manufacturer on 1000 western ave, almost in saugus right by the river. I live in newburyport though, which is only 35 minutes away if you don't hit any traffic.
No. The interesting story happened at 12 in a public library (L'Institut Canadien de Québec) and I wasn't working at that time. It happened about 20 feet below that room http://www.icqbdq.qc.ca/images/salle.gif.
Cleaning my Grandma's house for her every week for $25. She had a cat and she couldn't clean or get around very much on her own. I hope to get a tech support job this summer at my isp.
