I'll add one. Supreme Commander. I was just trying out the demo. Playing on Finn's Revenge, and both me and the AI of course were Cybran (limited by the demo to one map and one race).

I had gotten pwned a few times since I just wasnt used to all the units, I didnt read anything, I just jumped right in and it showed. After a few matches, I had built a ton of point defenses, had built shields and parked Salems under them for what I thought was an excellent long range defense.

I didnt mount hardly any offense, was more focused on making my base impenetrable (I was used to RA:2 where you could actually do that) and having spent a good while setting everything up, here comes a big wave of enemy units. My Salems and my cerebrus were taking care of most of it, and I was sitting back rather smugly when out of the fog comes this giant BUG! I threw everything I had at it and it just completely wiped everything out. I was flipping out, yelling and wondering what the hell this thing was desperately tossing units at it to try and take it out.

I'll never forget my introduction to the experimentals LOL.

I had something like that happen to me in the final mission of C&C tiberian sun firestorm, i had trashed most of the enemy base and had a few titans marching towards CABALs core with a mammoth mk II trailing behind, i capture the final com station and all of a sudden the music changes and a video clip plays of this structure transforming into a massive metal thing the "core defender". It killed my titans and went after the mammoth mk II. I was counting on an epic battle where the mammoth II would show its true strength or something! But no the core defender trashed it in 3 hits and the mk II didn't even damage it, waste of 3000 credits and a huge letdown lol. It then proceeded to ruin my base and chase down the small amount of units i had left

That was an epic mission which i remember to this day, was not expecting that to happen at all!

Back about 1980, when I was 12, I got a TI99/4a computer with a data cassette and played the various Scott Adams Adventure text games. All commands were two word phrases. I remember my mother making me go to bed around midnight one night and saying playing video games so much wasn't healthy. Pirate Adventure FTW.

MechWarrior2 in DOS on a Pentium 60 blew my mind. I think I got momentary wood when I first saw the opening cinematic scene. I played the crap out of that game.

Diablo practically lived in CD drive of the same computer after I installed a Pentium 120 overdirive processor. That was the first game I ever lost myself in and was really concerned about my gaming addiction. Stalking/being stalked by Diablo on the final level while playing in the middle of the night, trying to be quiet as everyone else slept, is a vivid memory.

CounterStrike was the game I've probably played the most ever. I would often come home after work and play until the sun came up. It's still my favorite game.

hehe i think when playing serious sam 2. the game isn't a ground breaking thing but at that age it was unrealistic funny for me.

Stalker, exploring the wasteland and ruined areas by yourself in the bright sunlight.

Exploring the temple areas in Unreal – very atmospheric.

Going into the deepest bowels of the Mars base in Doom 3.

Mechwarrior 2. I used to love defending the flag and snipping the hell out of people. One of the few games where a joystick was actually useful.

I don't have any of the old screens anymore, but I used to love me some Quake 2 CTF baby! Counterstrike was a fav too.

Consoles are fun and I enjoy them, but nothing beats playing on the PC.

Having watched Starship Trooper and playing co-op survival mode on Starcraft based on the movie. Epic.

Unreal Tournament - This game was amazing for it's time, incredibly fun multiplayer based gameplay with fast-paced arcade elements to it. Unreal Tournamet 2003/2004 were good but just not as impressive as the original game. Unreal Tournament 3 was decent I guess but just a dissapointment overall.

Warcraft 3 - I spent all night playing this game after I got it, it's just an incredible, amazing game, the campaign is really really good and the multiplayer is superb, there's just not much else to say about this, I have really fond memories of playing this game.

The Sims - I was blown away when I first discovered my brother playing The Sims, it was such a novel concept and it was just so incredibly fun to design your sim, manage his life, improve your house and discover new things. The first expansion (Livin' something) added a lot of wacky stuff which I loved.

Doom 3 - I have never ever been as impressed with graphics as I was when I first played Doom 3, the graphics were just a MAJOR revolution (along with Far Cry and Half Life 2 but I played Doom 3 first out of those three), I don't think there has been a change as drastic since then. I was so completely immersed and I liked the gameplay too. Crysis came close to blowing me in the same way Doom 3 did, but not quite.

Heroes of Newerth - I got in the closed beta way back in 2009 and I haven't looked back ever since, I still play this game today and it's amazing, it's really fun, I've met a lot of cool people and had a great time playing it. I've played this game probably more than any other game in my lifetime.

Maybe playing WOW i think. seriously killing Illidan was probably the best thing and best hours spend in any type of game. Also Arthas was a lot of fun!

Starcraft, Half Life and Unreal Tournament back when I had a Voodoo Banshee. Unforgettable times and a lot of time spent playing!

In more recent times, a bit of Counter-Strike: Source but honestly I've never been a big gamer. Although, Path of Exile looks pretty cool and I did enjoy Diablo.

Actually for me in Doom 3, the best part was right up the end of Delta and the two Barons of Hell coming out of the portal in homage to the original Doom. Also the first few parts of hell and the Sarge boss were particularly awesome. Doom 3 seriously underrated IMO.

Playing quake on my next door neighbor's Cyrix 166 setup in college dorms. I had a shitty 486 that didn't play it well, and he had this cyrix setup with a true S3 virge card and 17 inch monitor. It was amazing. We had to play local lan only until the greatest invention ever, quakeworld with client side prediction, made everyone who had even a lowly 28.8 baud modem able to hang with people on cable modems and university lans. I was really really good at the game, with rocket jump aliases, special config scripts, etc. Next year I bought a pentium 166 (overclocked to 200 mhz), the monster3d card and gaming became real...

Various kinds of deathmatching since the original DOOM. (actually made the counter flip over to 000 in Doom once)

XCOM: EU and TFTD - absolutely epic. I think that background music is forever burned into my brain.

More recently; DA:O - Morrigans lines were one constant flow of epicness.
