I was 19yo and was supposed to start my geological engineering degree but faculty members went on strike, so we started only in January 1977. In the meantime, I kept my job as a cook assistant at a posh restaurant in Old Quebec.

As for fun, one word: DISCO!!! (Drinking age is 18, so I could go clubbing by 1975).

I turned 6 in 1976, and I remember that my parents bought me a train set for my birthday. It was the Tyco Bicentennial Edition train set:

It was still working in the 90s and I still have it, but it hasn't been powered on in probably 20 years.

i had that loco! although i was only 2 then, i was given the train a few years later.

I still have it. It actually still ran as of the mid 90s, but it has been boxed up ever since then.

Getting in way too much trouble. Accidentally set fire to a field, accidentally caused a a back loader to drive into a wall being built, accidentally got into a fight with police in riot gear. Lost some friends and family in the 1976 coup d'etat in argentina and we moved to Italy.

Italy at the end of 76 was awesome though.

When we moved to the states in 78 I remember having an epic squirt gun fight with like 20 cousins. Good times. Remember when kids used to play outside and everything? lol

We toured the Freedom Train when it came through town. It was a bit of a wakeup call concerning the condition of American railways as the steam locomotive was too heavy for the rails in many locations.
