If you went back in time and told these two guys in 60 years you'll be able to buy (for about a weeks wage) a storage device that'll hold 512 gigabytes (512 000000000 bytes ), be the size of your pinkie finger nail, be powered by 2.5 volts, 100 megabytes read/write, have access time of 1 millisecond, is waterproof and can tolerate cold/hot climates and changes in air pressure, non volatile, and has error correction/CRC- does not require battery backup, and is shock proof.

I purchased my first pc in December 1984. It came with 256KB (not MB or GB) of memory and two 5.25 inch floppy disk drives. The operating system was DOS 2.0. The following summer I paid $350.00 for a Seagate 10MB (not GB) hard disk drive with 120 millisecond access time.

About the same time Ziff Davis published an interview with Bill gates in "PC Magazine". During the interview Bill stated 640KB of memory is all the memory we would ever need. ROFLMAO!

If someone back then told me what was going to happen my reaction would have been it can't happen fast enough.
