What would you consider the greatest future scientific discovery? Anti-gravity, cold fusion, cure for cancer?

Well, it depends mostly on which area. A cure for cancer wouldn't benefit spaceflights much, for example.

Stop and consider for a moment that none of those things have been discovered/invented.

Maybe you shouldlsit things like: radio waves, nuclear power, computers, the internal combustion engine, etc.

I mean, we can all make up inventions that don't exist and call them great. Like this "World's greatest scientific discovery: A chemical that, when ingested, prevents all illness and pain in perpetuity, causing blissful immortality"

I'm torn between cold fusion and quantum computing. Cold fusion would revolutionze our lives more than quantum computing directly would. But then again, quantum computing would significantly advance mankinds knowledge and potential. Just compare how computers changed mankind. Quantum computers might even make cold fusion possible
