I hate the fact that it's the least intuitive operating system ever. I can find anything on XP, 2000, and 98. I even find Linux distros I've never used pretty easy to navigate. Vista on the other hand... good fucking luck. Vista just sucks. Period.

Funny how people have been shooting down windows constantly since the days of Windows 95 back when there was a REALLY legitimate reason to hate MS and Windows. All the while Windows has been improving markedly. Sure there are still lots of things wrong with it and I'm sure there are a tone of security holes yet to be found but it's almost rock solid for the purposes I use it for and as for security I'm not a security noob and I'm not running screaming for linux yet. I've personally never had a serious security issue using windows. Mind you I keep up to date on all patches, use a good virus scanner and a 3rd party firewall. But I take risks too.

You obviously used it less than a week.

It learns what you typically run, caches it on windows startup, and stops asking for confirmation on running it.

Vista is great. My biggest beef with it is with the new Explorer. It is just a lot less usable than before for many reasons. They focused on the user friendliness to new users and prettied everything up, but introduced some cumbersome behaviors and small bugs, and removed some useful features.

- remembering folder settings doesn't work like it should
- drag selection in detailed mode doesn't work properly sometimes
- selecting an item in the right pane sometimes still leaves the selection in the navigation tree
- copying items have this annoying "calculating time left" message that possibly causes copying to take longer than it should
- copy item to a place where a file with the same name exists gives you this extremely verbose dialog, yet doesn't let you compare the dates between them

If you guys hate Vista then why did you buy it? Why did you still use it? you have many choices of OS - Linux, Unix, OSX, SpartaDOS, Warp, FreeBeOS, IBM-DOS, AmigaDOS, and AtariDOS...uninstall it and install other OS of your choice then no more rants.

I see I'm not the only one that thought that was annoying. Slows you down bigtime. Plus the search is annoying. Hit the backspace one too many times and you'll be moving to a different directory. STOP moving on me please, thank you.

I also dislike how it stalls and studders.... wish asus could make drivers that actually worked properly.

Actually, its not always a choice. XP has no tablet features standard (nor can tablet edition be purchased without a computer), only vista does. As much as i love tablet functionality, i hate vista... I'll be selling my tablet soon.

Not a thing. If you have vista ready hardware and turn off notification in "users", you'll love it!!! I suggest building a system yourself with a vista ready mb w/ 4 mem slots & am2 x2, amd x2 cpu, and 2 meg mem (512 x 4) for the x2 to kick in. And then get the system builders vista premium 32 or 64 software (around $100).
Media center (included in vista prem) is worth the cost alone. Play with it, its nifty.

A vista install on this type of system will go flawless and perform flawless.

I hate the fact that Vista is a lot harder to crash then XP.
I hate the fact that we have too many good programs in Vista.
I hate the fact that Vista installs so fast.
I hate the fact that Vista is so solid that its boring and requires no troubleshooting.
I hate the fact that Vista has too many options when it comes to choosing what version.
I hate the fact it only took 7 months for Vista drivers to catchup to XP drivers in performance that have had 7 years head start.
I hate the fact that Vista raises the standards,Microsoft have their job cut out for their next OS.
