Whatcha Play'n this weekend?

I figured we could partake in some light, fun gaming conversation since we've had so many serious thread this week. So here it a "Whatcha been playing" weekend edition thread. Here's what's on my plate:

Rainbow 6: Vegas 2
Time to wrap up this game. I'm not enjoying it as much as the first one, but it's just enjoyable enough that I keep pressing on. We'll see where it goes.


Dark Sector
The more I play this game, the more abilities are unlocked and the more I enjoy it. Looking forward to playing through this one. Man this is a great looking game.

Probably Forza 2 (which I'm hooked on...again) and maybe some Call of Duty 4.

Thought about pickin' up R6:V2 but it doesn't intrigue me enough, looks like the first with just a few small upgrades.

I'm hopefully going to finish up Condemned 2 and get rid of it... then maybe tackle some Ikaruga, or mess around with my new PC and try some games over there. I wonder how Battlefield 2 runs now.

New to consoles, so lots of catching up to do.

Hopefully restarting/finishing campaign on COD4 as lost my saves when on 2nd last mission. (PC)

I have a football game on Saturday at noon then everyone goes to a bar for afternoon drinking specials so i don't know how much gaming i'm going to get done Saturday.

If I have any free time over the weekend, it will be playing Hot Shots Golf. That's all I play right now, I'm telling you it's like crack for PS3.

Ninja Gaiden is a fantastic game. Are you playing the normal version or "Black?"

Damn--I keep meaning to crack open this game but I still havent gotten to it. We should hook up and play some Golf some time so you can school me.

Have this in from Gamefly. I'm a little over half-way through the game, so I'll likely try and finish that up.

Pinball FX (360 - XBLA)
One of my favorite XBLA games. They recently added a new table that I'd like to play some more. I'll likely put a few rounds in before and/or after sessions of Dark Sector.

Hot Shots Golf: Out of Bounds (PS3)
I'll almost certainly get a few rounds of HSG in this weekend. I'm still missing two expert golfers, so I'd like to try and earn those.

Warhawk (PS3)
I had not played this game for a few weeks, but the recent release of the v1.3 patch and the upcoming Broken Mirror expansion have rekindled my interest. That new wrench they added is an awesome addition.

Mythos (PC - beta)
If I have some extra time I may play a bit of this one evening. I've been wanting to start playing it again since they added the 3rd area to the game, but Hot Shots Golf and some recent reading I've been into have been doing a good job of keeping me away from my PC during my free time.

yea that and burnout paradise are literally the only games i've played in the past 2 months. i havent played anything but hot shots though since I got it and I prety much play it daily.

shoot me a friend request on PSN, i'm purbeast on there. i only have a handful of people on my friend list and most of them are buddies from an irc channel I hang in.

I think i too have only 2 experts left to unlock. I havent played single player mode in like 2 weeks though heh. I have the first 9 tiers beat completely but haven't started anything on the 10th tier yet. i'd like to get that beat this weekend too if i have time, but the online tourneys are my crack of the video game industry.

You're in about the same place I am. I think I have the first 9 completely beaten and then nothing on the 10th yet. I still haven't tried the actual online tournaments. I really need to give that a shot. So far I've only played online with friends a couple of times.

You're in about the same place I am. I think I have the first 9 completely beaten and then nothing on the 10th yet. I still haven't tried the actual online tournaments. I really need to give that a shot. So far I've only played online with friends a couple of times.

yea the tourneys are awesome but 1 screwed up hole can cause you from getting a podium to not getting one.

at the g2 level (you start out g3) you basically have to keep the -1/hole pace if you want to get on a podium, but it also depends on the course. i've only came in 1st once in a g2 out of 13 or so tourneys, but out of those 13 i've been disconnected half of them, a few of them on the very last hole when I was in contention to get a podium position too

since you are on tier 10 you should not have any problem ranking up from g3 to g2 though.

How do the tournaments work exactly? I've been online with friends a couple of times and I've seen the tee times you can sign up for, but haven't signed up for one yet. So what happens when you sign up? Do you just wait around in one of the lobbies until it's nearly tee time? Does the game automatically take you to your tournament?

I'm a huge pinball fan but I didn't know if FX was worth the 800 points. How many different tables are there (not including the DLC tables?)

yea a little timer appears up in the top under the corner and it counts down till 5 minutes before the actual start. then a yes/no thing comes on saying "you are registered click yes to make sure you want to and you will join in 90 seconds or you will automatically be joined in 90 seconds". after that you just select your person and stuff then go on with it.

it's fun cause it can have up to 50 people in it. the only thing that sucks is with normal games you play w/your friends, when everyone is done w/the hole, it will countdown from like 20 seconds or so regardless how much time was left on the hole. in the tourneys this doesn't happen and it always has to count all the way down to 0 from whatever the starting timer for that hole is. the "very slow" tourneys take quite some time and I try to avoid them.

Yeah, the price was one thing a lof of people complained about when the game launched. Largely because it only had 3 tables at launch. But last Halloween they released a new free table. That table should now be included with new purchases as well, so there's 4 tables. Beyond that, there are currently 2 DLC tables.

I really like the game. It's easily one of the best looking XBLA games available. I only have one real gripe about the game... and that's that you can't control the power of the ball launcher like you can in many pinball tables. The tables are also "fast"... sort of like the pinball tables are tilted more than most tables you see. So the ball can move pretty fast at times. Some people don't like that, but it doesn't bother me. Highly underrated game, IMO.

Just finished my last college class ever, and waiting for exams so going to turn the power back on my PS3. Might pick-up R6: Vegas 2, more likely just going to go through Uncharted or Ratchet & Clank.

I will probably go for one of the other endings in STALKER since I have a save game right near the ending.

I'll probably knock off another huge chunk of FFVII: Crisis Core at some point when my wife makes me watch something boring.

Other possibilities: Sins of a Solar Empire, The Witcher, and I might try and finish Assasin's Creed for the sake of finishing it.
