For Christmas I got:
- woken up at 5am by my son
- woken up at 6am by my son (who aparently forgot that 6am wasn't 7am as agreed upon)
- woken up at 7am by my son
- yelled at by wife for waking her up at 7am, without having coffee made
- to yell at my son for sneaking down and partially opening up an unlabeled gift... just to see who it was for
- to feel guilty (although I'm not sure why) that I didn't get anything for my wife, even though she did for me. We had agreed to not get anything for each other as money is tight this year.
- to drive to my in-laws house for Christmas morning with her family
- to cook breakfast, under strict supervision from father-in-law. (major pita)
- to clean kitchen after breakfast
- to return to my house to prepare our contributions to Christmas dinner: AuGratin potatos, carrots (cooked w/dill), and "fluff".
- to drive to wife's aunt's house for Chirstmas dinner
- to eat until belly burst.
- to get el cheapo present from the person who pulled my name this year (we draw names in the family to save $$ for all)
- to load all my son's crapola into the truck (kids names don't get drawn... its a free for all for them) and drive it all home.
- to sit and stare at the pile-o-crap in the living room, where my floor space used to be.
- to yell at my son, and his friend, that for some reason was spending the night
- to finally sit down, relax, and install my new 19" LCD Monitor, that my dad gave me.
- and to sit and stare in amazement at it. (I was using a 10 year old 15" CRT)
Not a rant... just a recap.
All in all it was a pretty good Christmas... just a busy one as usual. It gets harder and harder to keep the families happy.
