It's extremely bad for the health. The liver is the organ that filters all the bad stuff, so it makes sense. Restaurants here serve it though, but never seen it in a supermarket.
it's not illegal in the USA, had some 2 weeks ago.
If you do eat liver, make sure to cook your liver flukes enough.
WTF is this bullshit.
The only danger from eating liver is overdosing on vitamin A.

I'm just going by what my dad's doctor told him...my dad loves to eat liver but had to stop because it's really bad for you especially the heart. Of course most atoters know more than doctors, so you must be right.

The liver is not a "filter" (in the sense that a real filter works). i.e. it doesn't trap bad stuff and keep it there until you die (bioaccumulation) or until the liver is changed.
I love liver, myself.

The major disadvantage of eating beef liver is the amount of cholesterol it contains. A slice of beef liver has 90 percent of the DV of cholesterol. Cholesterol is vital to the creation of cells and certain hormones, but your body naturally produces all it needs. Excessive dietary cholesterol can increase your risks for heart disease and stroke.

Risk of heart disease and stroke. In other words, not something you'd want to eat every day.

Correction... Illegal in California!
Probably because of endless rounds of austerity policies to hospitals' budgets
Two large (~50g) eggs contain 130% ~ 140% RDV cholesterol, and have hardly any of the other good stuff in liver (vitamins and such). In one of those links: The major disadvantage of eating beef liver is the amount of cholesterol it contains.
