Whatever happened to the Ti4400?

What happened to this card? It seems to almost to disappear from the market? Mostly now you see the 4200, 4600, and the 4800(which I think is the 4400 with agp 8x?!?)

They don't make them anymore I think because the Ti4200 is cheaper and can be overclocked almost to the levels of the Ti4600 AFAIK. So there's no real point in getting a 4400.

ti4800 is ti4400 .. same card ... one supports 8x agp (no real world difference really though)

Looks like overlapping pricepoints along with blurred lines of performance (especially with oc'ing) has caused the natural withdrawal of the 4400. That's it.

if i am correct, the ti4800 is a ti4600 with agp 8x while the ti4800SE with agp 8x

Okay, so the 4400 is pretty much disappear. Now Nvidia, release that dang NV30 so I can get the 4600 for cheap!!!! Thank god my wife is computer and car illiterate, only is she knows what I have been putting in my comp and car (comp: northwood 1.8, wd1200jb, Liteon dvd. Car: custom springs, agx strut, sway bars, strut bar.)

I've also had to sneak a DVD writer and WinTV-PVR 350 past my dad - he doesn't like me spending anything on a computer. Funny thing is, when we can write TV shows to DVD instead of recording them on videos, I'm sure he won't mind.

Where is it? I wish it were dead, but sadly, the Ti4400 still lives on in the Ti4800SE. What I don't get is, doesn't the Ti4800SE sound like it would be faster than the Ti4800? Like it's the "Second Edition?" Well it's not. The Ti4800 is the Ti4600 with AGP 8x, while the SE is the Ti4400 with AGP 8x.

Oh well. It's still a waste. Buy a Ti4200 with an 8-layer PCB and 128MB of 3.3ns RAM and clock it at Ti4600 levels (such as the Albatron). IMO, either go with the 4200 or get the Radeon 9700 Pro.

I've got a 128mb Palit GF4 4200. It doesn't overclock for crap...maybe 10% before you start getting artifacts and such.

I'm holding off until prices drop on the 4600s. I may even go ATI (9700Pro) if the price is right.

I just picked up a Gainward Ti4800se card and she overclocks to 325/675 with no problems. Bumped my 3DMark2001se to over 14,000 + score

Bought it for $219.99 here locally and it comes with VIVO too.
