Whats a file sharing program like napster that has lots of 256bit MP3 files?

Everything on Morpheus is 128 I tried the regedit so I could get songs that are higher then 128bits but they are very few.
What do you guys sugest that I try?

Look. When you compress a wav into a 128bit mp3, you lose information, it's a LOSSY compression scheme. When you decompress back to wav, you get a wav with less information than the original. If you compress that back down to a 256bit mp3, you loose more information, plus have the defects from the first compression...

Converting 128kbit to 256kbit will probably make the MP3 sound even worse. Because of its lossy compression, MP3 can never sound better than its source.

Depends on which encoder the peep used. I have heard some 128's that were mde with lame that sounded crytal clear. Then I hear some made with xing or musicmatch that sound like @ss!

Also depends on the recording quality. These flybynight bands these days need better record producers!
I had this one mp3 that sounded like a bad bootleg. I downloaded copies from all over and they all sounde3d just alike. I bought the cd and guess what. The cd itself sounded like a lowbitrate mp3! I was pissed.

Uh, I can find 128kbps+ files on Morpheus just fine. I don't download MP3s below 160kbps. Just set the minimum quality when you search.

This is off topic, but I just couldn't resist. Um...now unless you're talking about a big name group (i.e. a major label contracted), that is very common. Do you have any clue how much a high quality studio recording session costs a band to produce? Most working or underground bands have to do their recording DIY, which generally means they either record it at home with cheap equipment or at a cheap studio. It doesn't have anything to do with record producers or anything, or that they are fly by night bands, they are just doing their best with what they have. Those big bands get their label to drop $1000's of dollars for them to record with the best quality studio equipment. Sorry, I don't want to sound mean or condescending(sp?) but I'm in a band and I don't think some people realize that low recording quality doesn't mean the band is clueless or doesn't know what they are doing.
