what's a good and easy way (i'm talking bachelor-pad style) to spice up your MASHED POTATOES?

Bachelors dont peel potatoes and make home made mashed potatoes. They buy the boxed kind and mix it/cook it in 10 minutes.

any kind of cheese.
roasted garlic
sun dried tomatoes
chives and real butter
chili peppers

EDIT: i do not normally peel them if they are red skin potatoes. I just cut them and boil them peel on and make smashed potatoes.

Blue Cheese dressing is good, I usually hold off on some of the milk.

You can make them with cream too, but I've never tried that.

use heavy cream instead of milk. friggin delicious. also see if you can find a recipie for "chantilly potatoes", mmmmmm. also you could try using a bit of sour cream as well. or throw some garlic into the water when boiling the potatoes, this will take more garlic than if you just add it when mashing.

Very basic:

Boil potatoes until they're mashable.
Mash with butter, garlic/garlic powder, paprika, and pepper and salt to taste.

Mmmmmmmm, nutricious and delicious!

And remember, there is no such thing as TOO much garlic!

You forgot the milk!

And, going this route, I would substitue cayenne for the paprika and the pepper. A mite tastier, and your stomach will thank you for your colon-caring choice.

No, but I definitely heard one in Kwaipie's reply:

I frequently think about what is good for my colon before choosing ingredients.

As a matter of fact, I think about my colon all the time. I'm thinking about it right now.

I would avoid regular potatoes.

Try mashed sweets, with butter, some heavy cream and a few tablespoons of brown sugar. You'll never need gravy and you'll never go back to the old kind.
