What's a good Bluetooth mouse that doesn't cost a fortune?

I don't have the most expensive one but it often drops connection. The BT LED on my laptop isn't lit unless I'm moving the mouse. Sometimes it doesn't light when I move the mouse and there's no response to my mouse. Nothing corrects it. I have to wait for it to start responding again. Sometimes the LED lights without moving the mouse to indicate it's working again. Sometimes, maybe, turning the mouse off/on helps.

I got this mouse from China via ebay. I think it is or it's based on a popular BT mouse.

Would I be better off using a BT USB dongle rather than the internal BT card. I don't know if this laptop uses a combo WiFi/BT card or if there are two cards. It was made in 2011.

Thank you

If your going to use it for games, don't waste your money. You will experience lag. Wired is best imo.

Let me guess with one of those "it sounds too good to be true" prices? Just because everything is made in China, doesn't mean it's all equal.

It's possible you have a sub-par BT card in your laptop, but my first guess would be you unfortunately bought a crappy mouse.

Bluetooth
Hi. Peripherials genius here.

I understand you have a bt mouse on a 2011 laptop; a few questions.

1. Should it not be time to replace that laptop? 7 years is a lot of time for a laptop, heat and stress damage the components, plus the general performance should be poor due to the age of the hardware.

2. Does it have to be bluetooth?
Im not saying you need to go wired, but there should be many cheap wireless options for you.

Bluetooth isnt really that great of a technology to start with.

You want a decent one? Get a Logitech. Probably $60-90 at Staples.

This. Logitech makes the best, most affordable ergo mice on the market. I'm using a M705 I can't even remember when I bought, and is, for me, the best desktop mouse I've yet used (in 35+ years of computing). That it's wireless is icing on the cake. I have another, unopened, that I got a good deal on just for backup.
